Re: Yenko stripes

Very cool! Can we see some pics of the front? I'm curious to see where you started the stripe.

Re: Yenko stripes

Thank you all for the kind comments, was not sure if you all would like it.

I will get more pics and post them when I get home today

Supercheyanne the tire sizes are 235/60 fronts and 275/60 rears, I was thinking of upsizing to a 255 for the fronts but I will wait until the fronts wear out first

After the Chevelle was put back together 17 or 18 rims might go on, but not sure yet.

Re: Yenko stripes

Saw a picture of the yenko dealership and there were trucks mixed in with the other vehicles but I still thought "naw...not gonna do it..." but it looks good.

Don Yenko would be proud of you. Looks very nice and I am not a fan of things that don't belong. The right colors too.

Re: Yenko stripes

Thank all of you again for the props, makes me feel better about doing stuff like this not sure where it will end up sometimes The truck will evolve as I keep looking at it, paint accents and wheel changes but this is the first step.

Here are a couple more pics, one front view and one engine. Very dirty, the truck is a driver and is used almost everyday

If Don Yenko ever did a truck they would probably look like that but since he didn't I think it's a bit like putting lipstick on a pig.

When I read the post I was thinking "ughh, no", then I saw the pics. Looks correct to me, like they belong there (Don Yenko was a neighbor of mine when I was a kid, I think he'd approve)

Even though I probably would not put those stripes on my truck, that paint looks great. There is a lot to be said in favor of not following the herd.

when I read the title, I thought "that will look hideous" - so, of course, I had to look... Very pleasantly surprised - perfect vibe truck to put these on there and you did it very well, congrats, looks great!
This was going to be my exact response almost word for word. Nice job

Re: Yenko stripes

Thanks to all of you, seriously cool props.

I was driving it the other day, some guy in a service truck stopped getting off the freeway, stopped blocking everyone behind him and said 'sweet truck, awesome'

Don't know if it was the new stripes or not but it sure feels good to have someone go out of their way and compliment your hard work

Re: Yenko stripes

I'd love to see a pic or two of your truck running down the road. You also metioned a wheel change, what are you going to? I like the current setup.
