What fender emblem for my 71 GMC - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I recently picked up a 71 GMC C20 that is missing the fender emblems. I'm looking for a picture of what emblem(s) it should have had. Thanks!

I think it would be GMC,2500 sierra. But lets see what the pros say...

Wouldn't it also have an "8-400" badge below the side marker...

I think sierra 2500 too, based on z84 which is custom sport truck which is the same as cheyenne on chevrolet. Should also have chrome sierra emblem on the bed side.

Yep, Z84 is Sierra. They had lower trim originally and yours had both because it was a deluxe 2-tone. GMCs didn't get engine badges.

Thanks guys. Most of what came up in searches looked to be discussing Chevys and I was fairly certain it would be different for a GMC. This truck would have also had the large chrome G M C on the front of the hood, correct?

No, GMC did not have displacement emblems like Chevy did.

I thought Sierra was an options package until 1972, and only included the rear quarter emblems (for badges). Wouldn't 1971 have the generic V-Eight badge or Super Custom, if that's the equivalent of the Z84 trim level?

Z84 is Cheyenne and Sierra in 71/72. Super Custom in those years was equivalent to Custom Deluxe and is RPO Z62
