Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

I am running spacers in the back. 67 has a shorter rear end so... had to make up for it with a 1" spacer. As for the front, no spacer but with a 10" wide rim, I had to take out the inner fender. It does handle like its on rails up front. If I had some sway bars, it would be UGLY in turns!

I should look into 1" spacers. Although these are 8.5" wide all around. Don't know if that makes a difference? 5.5" back space as well.
That train feeling is what I'm trying to avoid! Haha.

My rims are 20 x 10 all around. Not the best but, its what I could get my hands on. On the 67, like I stated, the rear end is more narrow than the later years. I didn have to widen my rear tubs an inch to make room in the back and take out the inner fenders up front. Also, I have CPP drop spindles in the front which I believe changes the front end width as well. (mine was drums stock).

When I was running my 15 x 8 rallys, I think they were 4.5" back spacing and I was good all around... I did have some rub in the rear inner fenders because I was running fat rear tires.

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Ah, ok. I actually have disc brake conversion all around but it's not hard lined yet.
I have some weld racing drag lites that I was scared to run thinking they'd be too small to clear the calipers etc. 15X8 front and 15X10
Rear. That's the reason I ended up getting the centerline wheels. Mine is a 70 and had the stock drum brakes all around. I also have the CPP front drop spindles so we are almost identical with our set ups.

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Yup, that disc brake conversion up front will widen your track. When the General switched to disk up front he also widened the rear to match. In either case (factory drum/drum or disk/drum), the rear track is something like 1-1/2" narrower.

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

1.5" spacers in the rear should work then, right? Appreciate your help on this! I would like these wheels to fit correctly....or at least look like they're correct. Haha. Thanks again buddy!

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

The change in mid 1970 from drum to disk and five lugs was 1-1/2" overall, so 3/4" per side.

C_Ruiz - not sure what year your truck is for the rear end width but, you are only really limited by the inner fender. I had to widen mine 1 inch to make my wheels fit but, they are a lot wider than yours.

Mine is a 70 GMC. Not sure of the exact width either?
The wheels I speak of are 20X8.5 all around. 255/45/20 rear and 255/40/20 up front.
I am trying to avoid cutting anything (except the notch)
for now until I can get drop members.

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Been looking for a truck for my son... he wanted a mini and not an old school so... low and behold, I found a 2003 S10. its a bone stock 4 banger with 85k miles on it. I got it for 2500 because it was pissing tranny fluid by the tranny on the test drive. I changed the O-ring for the lower cooler line and problem solved for 38 cents.

He wants to drop it and put some chevy rally wheels on it. I will get some pics later. I hope all is well... need to get a cruise set up for Hawaii before winter. (HA HA, Winter in Hawaii)... I make joke! LOL

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

So, I have been practicing pinstriping for a couple months now. Watched every pinstriping video from Steve Kafka to the old Ed Roth/Von Dutch interviews. I finally threw down a little hood piece on my truck.... The good thing is, the truck is rattle can flat black so, if I screw it up, no big deal!

Enjoy...

Its been decent lately. I put a new video on my youtube... just a couple laps on one of the practice tracks back in the mtns... its a fast track with just bermed turns. no jumps, great for practicing cornering. Sorry about the weather... LOL Thankfully we can do everything year round here.

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Finally got my 67 legal in Hawaii! Been skirting the law for years. Changed the title to a street rod designator. Now I can do whatever I want to it and not have to slip 100 under the table for safety checks. Time to finally get off my a$$ and bag her.

Looks cool man! Is that the original Medium Blue on the inside? That's what my truck interior was when new.

Yeah, that is the original color of the truck. When I got the truck, I hated the color but I truly wish I wouldn't have primered the whole truck. Live and learn. I think my favorite color is that green on my tailgate.
