Thanks. I found the high mount kit for the AC compressor at Kwik Performance for $197. I also bought a brand new Sanden compressor for $100. This kit required another belt tensioner pulley, so I ordered that too for another $50
I then got in contact with Old Air Products and ordered the POA elimination kit, a new expansion valve, new drier, and all the 0-rings.

So everything is on the way. Once I have the old parts flushed and the new parts installed (maybe this weekend??) I'm driving the truck down to Phoenix to a place called AZtubesandhoses and they are going to custom make new AC lines while I wait.
Then it's up to me to suck it down and charge it. Should be blowing cold in a couple weeks.

This will be the last big expense to finish off on the blazer for now. Figured I went this far so I may as well do the AC right and enjoy the darn thing

I know I didn't spend a lot of time making everything pretty. It's not a show truck it's a daily driver and wheeler. I take it on the trails, down narrow fire lanes, in the mud, etc. so I was not concerned with bling, just raw functionality and cost.
I'll have to do some digging and see if I can find it. Generally the search functions on websites don't treat me very well
Sounds like it might be an interesting read.

I was kind of thinking while I was at it I'd go with a larger tank for more fuel capacity, since we take this thing on long trips.
What is the stock tank? 24-26 gallons? I'm not sure, mine has been replaced with a plastic version of a stock tank, I assume it's the same capacity.

Re: 6.0/4L60E swap finally done

Here are a couple of updated pics. Got the high mount AC kit and a new Sanden. New POA eliminator will be here this afternoon. Local AC shop is going to make some new compressor lines for me. Then I can suck this thing down and charge it.

Re: 6.0/4L60E swap finally done

Preliminary gas mileage check. Around town driving in typical 25-45 mph traffic I got 16.5 mpg.

Drove down to Phoenix over the weekend, all highway cruising at 70-75 mph and got 19 mpg.

There is still more in it, I haven't begun some of the tuning tricks I have in store for it

Re: 6.0/4L60E swap finally done

I've had issues with photobucket. Sometimes they stay up there for weeks, and other times just days, then they are removed for some reason. Something wrong with my account I guess.

I can't remember all the pics I put up there, and I'm not even sure if I reposted them on photobucket, if they would actually reappear in the correct places here in the posts. I had them organized with descriptions. Wouldn't make much sense if they popped up all over the place One of these days I'll figure it out.

If there is something in particular you want to see, I'll either dig up some pics or take new ones, not a problem at all.
