Re: How about a mini '72? Crazy japanese!

I have the right to my own opinion and thats just plain horrible. Not the design, the concept of the japanese copying these trucks, they cant build something worthwhile now so there trying to copy things that GM did right 40 years ago?

Yep you got a pretty good bead on it. The Japanese have failed miserably at making worthwhile vehicles. And what makes better sense than to go back 40 years to ancient American technology and rip off GM in a sinister but genius plan to save themselves. It's a tribute thats all

Especially the 94-03 s-10's. I always thought they looked like mini 67-72's and you put that grill and such on it, sweet!!!!!!!!!

As to legal use, I know here in oklahoma they just made the small japanese/chinnese trucks street legal here. You know the ones you see at nurserys, in city use and on ranches. I was wanting one of those till I saw this thread. Now I want one of them, especially the truck.

Make the bed longer for a dirtbike and I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Or maybe a flatbed and you could carry two bikes, even better!

Re: How about a mini '72? Crazy japanese!

With the media push for smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles to be manufactured, I could totally have some fun with one of these conversions as a commuter. Sure beats what we have for choices here. I agree the rear view could sure use help and I don't think it would take too much to handle if they can do the front so well. At 6'3" and 285 pounds with the shoulder span of a linebacker, I might have some serious trouble wedging into that mini cruiser.

Re: How about a mini '72? Crazy japanese!

Those are pretty cool. I have been stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 2 1/2 years now. I have not seen any here, or I probably would have been driving one. I drive a Toyota, like almost everybody else.

Just six more months and I will be back in the States. I go on the storage website almost monthly to make sure they are cranking my '69, checking it over, and moving it. Still no leaks!

Honey!Who shrunk the Chevys?

I dunno. It may have copped our look but it wouldn`t satisfy me just like the Hardly Davidsons that come out of the country. If I`m driving a micro machine it`s not out of 1st preference.I`d just go point A to B and save my money for the real thing.Or drive a little sports car and have fun.
