Re: 22" Steel Wheels

A friend of mine found them. He said they are shipping wheels from a new Tahoe and that the nice 22" where boxed up inside it.

Found this on another forum:

Pricing! For the 2012MY, all 22” LPO wheels included in the transit wheel program will feature common pricing within each division. In previous model years, LPO wheel pricing was inconsistent and often varied by vehicle and trim level. Common pricing should make LPO wheels easier to merchandise on the showroom floor and increase sales.
22” LPO wheel codes included in the transit wheel program are VSJ, VSK, VSN, VS4, SES, SEW, SEV and SEU
Chevrolet and GMC will offer these wheels at $2,995 MSRP installed
Cadillac will offer these wheels at $1,995 MSRP installed
When dealers order any vehicle above with 22” LPO wheels, it will be shipped with the 22” transit wheel assembly (RPO RBR) from the factory.
Shortly before or after vehicle delivery to the dealership, the local ADI will deliver a fully mounted and balanced set of LPO tires and wheels to the parts department, as they do today. The dealership will be charged a $1500 core charge by the ADI upon delivery of the LPO wheels.
The dealership’s service department will remove the (4) 22” transit wheels and install the (4) 22” LPO wheels delivered by the ADI. No reprogramming for the wheel swap is required. Although with any tire/wheel removal the TPM must be re-learned. The (4) intact 22” transit wheels (including tires and TPM sensors) are returned to the parts department.
The dealership’s parts department will prepare the (4) 22” transit wheels for shipment (palletize and wrap) and make arrangements for return with the ADI. Dealers will not be responsible for freight and the wheel R&R labor time will be increased by .3 to compensate the parts department for the additional work.
Upon receipt of (4) intact 22” transit wheels, the ADI will credit back the $1500 core charge to the dealership.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

I don't suppose you could measure bore size and backspacing before you install them could you? Wouldn't it be nice if these things were falling from the sky? Even if a person could find another set I don't think they'd be cheap.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

Sorry! I picked the wheels up but haven't had a chance to measure the center bore or the backspace yet. This having a job really cuts into my life! lol.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

Yeah I know. I just bought a 5 lug donor truck and started detailing everything to go under mine and SHARP LEFT TURN AHEAD! Now I gotta have different drop spindles and conversion rotors.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

You can continue with the parts you were going to use with the, I'm assuming, 71/72? suspension and just order 6 lug rotors from ECE.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

I had some 73-87 Belltech spindles for 1"rotors. I think I may get some CPP Modular spindles this time but I'm not sure yet. Still trying to figure out tire sizes. I want my truck as low as lolife99's red truck but I don't know if I can pull it off with the 22's.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

I've got the word out to a couple local GM dealerships to see if I can get a hold on a set.

Re: 22" Steel Wheels

I'm surprised a dealership would let these go. With a $1500 core charge, somebody is asleep if they walk out the door. I do dig 'em though!

Ya I had my brother (who works for the chevy dealership in my town) talk to the parts manager and he said that there is no core charge and they must be returned to gm because they aren't dot aproved. He said most likely that if whoever is selling them gets caught that they will lose their job. This really sucks if true because I want a set.
