Seat options ‘67-‘68 CSTs ??

What is the story with seat availability for the top of the line CST in 67-68? Were buddy buckets or bench standard with this group? This 68 CST showed up on the time capsule thread and has a conventional bench. Anyone know the skinny on this?

In '67 CST's the buddy bucket seats were standard but in '68 they were an option.

Here is the SPID for my '68 CST/Custom Camper with buckets.

Here is my spid. Interesting that buckets are listed. The truck does not have them but still has the carpet and back stop for the center lid.

Looks like the VIN indicates it's a '67 But I'm not sure why the SPID lists the buckets if they are considered a standard item in that year.

I knew I could look the year up. I don't memorize little things like that. I figure it's easier for the person to just tell us. Thanks for letting me know

Heh Heh, I need to get that GD rip fixed!!

As far as I can tell, the 68 bench CST seat is unique to our series of trucks with it's own stitching and offsetting color combos. It also seems to have extra padding.

I've only seen a few originals pop up over the years on this board.

Re: Seat options ‘67-‘68 CSTs ??

Many years ago I had a 67 CST which had the bench seat. Oddly, it also had the eyebrow moldings around the grille, which some state was 68 only. Unfortunately, I do not recall much from the spid, and do not have any photos of the truck, but it was a highly optioned truck. My guess it was a very late 67, but no way now to verify. But many state that 67 CST's never had bench seats or eyebrow moldings, but the truck I had came with both. Other options it had...... speed warning indicator, AC, PS, PB, 327 Auto, Wood bed, and more.

Look close at this SPID, notice this is a 67 and it is NOT a CST. It is a midline ‘Custom’ with bucket seat option. I have NEVER seen that combination. There is another recent thread discussing bucket seat option on base trim level 69/72. This 67 shows Bucket seats were indeed available outside of the top trim level.

Well here is the truck the spid belongs to. I recently purchased and basically saved from a crusher. The original 327 is gone replaced by a 1978 350. The buddys and no spin were also gone when bought it.

It is a nice spid to see on a 67 for sure.
