I am impressed so far, and not just by the quality and timeliness of his work. Communication with Dewayne has been open and easy. I am optimistic this project will help negate the low opinions many people have about professional shops. Dewayne is motivated, he knows he lives in the real world where bills are due and to make the mortgage payment you have to finish work. He does not come off as conceited or full of himself, and yet so far his work speaks volumes. If our project stays on course regarding quality, timeliness, and budget I will be singing the praises of DeWayne Morgan and Nsane Hot Rodz to all who will listen.

Congrats on the killer work those guys at Nsane are doing. I hope he will send some pics of the techniques he using. The patches look better than the original metal.
You are moving right along on the chassis too.

I'm not sure if he'll give out his trade secrets, we'll have wait and see if he chimes in. I am very happy the chassis at the coater and the body is getting the attention it needs. My wallet isn't so happy.

Mike, I consider you a 1%er in the C10 world as you only farmed out 1% of the work for your build. I consider myself a 50%er, as I need help with a few of the aspects of a truck build. I say that to say this, I feel fortunate that I am finding people I feel I can trust to do quality work at an honest price. I optimistically hopeful these relationships will continue, because the inverse would be disasterous for me. Thanks for the good words brutha!

More progress at Nsane Hot Rodz... Driver's A-piller repaired, passenger door fit checked, and bracing for the cab installed. We should see the new one-piece floor installed very soon.

Was the floor really bad enough to warrant a "full floor" replacement?

It was deeply pitted all across the footwell as well as rusted through in that same area and out where the floor rolls down 90 degrees into the inner rocker. DeWayne felt it was an easier more cost efficient fix that would greatly increase the longevity of the cab, he's done a few of these recently so I trust his experience.

Re: Project: Shiro

Is the floor installed yet? Just kidding Buck, they are flying along. Looks great, I'm happy for you. My firewall/ toe area seam is also pitted up, I ended up just running the wire wheel to it and cut out one area that needed repaired by the gas pedal. The floor is going to get the POR15 treatment too.

Sheez, it might be!! They aren't fooling around that's for sure. Mine looked like it might be okay until the blaster hit it, so it needed to be dealt with.

Things are going well right now, but we are mid-story at best. I'm going to forecast a pause in the action once I get all the pieces back to the house.

It originally had one so it will just need to be trimmed out and the retaining nut ring welded to it. It would be great if they made the replacement floors in the high jump configuration. A bucket seat ready version would be awesome too.

There is a good bit of stuff to weld up as of yet, cab corner, rockers, fuel filler and a few spots on the firewall. After that they will put all the sheet metal in epoxy primer. With that said, I don't think you are too far off.

Probably my favorite truck I've seen on this forum. I miss seeing it around here and I would rather have it that my fleetside any day. To me, THAT's perfect patina.
