This new panel is to repair a common problem area on the ‘67-’72 model trucks. This does the rear corner of the floor inside the cab corner and has the vertical flange in the back where the floor attaches the the back of the cab. This is an entirely new HIGH QUALITY panel.

I was looking at that as well for use in a Jimmy/Blazer - the floor where it meets the 'step up' for the floor - might be usable...since this area is a pain to rebuild at times...I included a couple of pictures of where I am talking about on the floor area on a Blazer/Jimmy.

You would need to fill that hole for the seat belt - drill a new hole for the floor belt bolt [on the driver side] and also put the piece in a 'break' to bend up the lip on it to rest against the step up...not sure if that would be more/less work than making the piece yourself.

I just did both sides of my Blazer so I don't have anything else to test it on...

PM sent - I can test fit it to see how it fits - this is how mine looks...I haven't welded the inner rocker yet and that piece is welded to it...

It will be mostly cut down to that step area - so if you have one that is damaged or bent that one would work - that way you don't ship a good one to me.

I think the angles will be OK and it may help with the area you're showing....but I only see a couple inches of it that may useable

You are right Jon, that is an extremely complex little area! With your piece you will only have to cut and bend a 90 degree for the toeboard/stepup

Patch Review:

I received the patch on Friday while I was at work. I got time today to take a better look at it and see how it would install...I got about 30 pix from start to finish so there is plenty to see.

I would say that depending on the area needed to fix - this piece would definitely be useful for a blazer or jimmy in this area...

First few pix are the piece before doing any work to it and then my progress will be noted as I progress down to the piece I eventually am left with.

To get my measurements to use in the blazer - I mounted the blazer floor support (silver piece in the picture) to the patch panel using the holes that were already there.

I know this support piece runs just at the floor/step up area of the blazer so it was easiest to use that support to gauge the amount of the patch needed.

Picture one is the reverse side of the patch with the [silver] blazer floor support piece still bolted to it.

The next 4 pictures indicate the amount of trimming needed to have this piece mate against the floor - it will make sense in later pictures.

These next pictures indicate how crappy of a job I did trying to recreate this area of the floor. I bolted my inner rocker patch panel and the new patch panels together to see how the coverage was...

On the 4th picture you can see the sharpie line on the patch panel indicating where the 'floor met the step-up' section. I got measurements of this should anybody want to use this patch panel for a blazer/jimmy -

The measurements will be in a future post.

The far right 'hashed' section is cut away - so what is left is the floor and then the step section.

The first picture shows how the floor support, the B pillar support and the Tri-Pro patch come together to provide integrity to the blazer floor in this area.

The bolt you see the top of pulls the B pillar to the floor - this is also why the patch needed to be trimmed so these pieces could be flush with each other.

While it was bolted in - I marked the back of the step area to indicate where the bolt would go. Removed the Tri-Pro piece and then drilled out the hole (picture 2 and 3 below)

Pictures 4 and 5 below indicate the trimming I did to fit it to my vehicle. These pictures also show how large of an area the patch panel can fix. The outermost sharpie lines from the patch was the pre-trimmed section - so it can cover a pretty large area if your blazer or jimmy is rusted pretty bad in these areas.

Picture 5 shows how zealous I got with trimming and now I have a gap to fill on the top left corner of the patch...

I trimmed to the Tri-Pro patch down to the appropriate size and it would have been a lot easier to weld the hole in the step area before bending it - but oh well.

I cut the hole into a square and then made a patch for it. I then welded in the patch to make the piece look complete again.

I then mocked it back up and took the last picture of the process.

I did the same thing but I took and made the lip etc using the long 1 piece inner rocker outside floor piece like you started with. its the same mold probably not as wide as the patch you used
