issue with traction

OK, I seem to have a serious issue with traction(actually the lack of it) on my friend 68. It's lowered 4.5/6.75 and never adjusted the pinion angle. Would the correct angle help with traction? if so, what angle do we need to shoot for?

No.

Pinion angle has nothing to do with traction.

You do, however, want the rear pinion working angle to be 3 degrees for u joint life and smoothness. Equal and opposite to the front joint would be ideal.

If it has trailing arms you'll need to raise the front pivot points up, preferably above the axle tube height for the most effective increase in traction. You can buy brackets to replace the originals that have multiple holes for tuning the pivot height, or you can remove the stock brackets and flip the over.
