another 350 swap question

Ok, so per the advice from lots on this board, I found a TH400 for my K20. I have a bad TH350, NP203 transfer case. I am getting quotes for this job (I am not a mechanic...) and a couple of people I spoke with said I might have problems...that the 400 spline is different from the 350s, wont just bolt to the NP203. Also mentioned was cutting down the driveshafts??? Both transmissions are short tail, I believe.

I am cheerfully going to be the extra pair of hands on this job, but lack the experience and skill background to know off the bat if someone who may or may not have an interest in rebuilding my 350 for more $ is on the level.

Plus, being female, I gotta wonder too if they are adding the 'estrogen surcharge' onto the estimates...LOL

Thanks yall!

Re: another 350 swap question

Th400 is longer as well as different splines (32 VS 27)Quite a bit of work involved. Unless you really need a 400 I would recomend finding another 350 or having yours rebuilt.
