OK - this engine is a million miles from me here in Alabama, but I am just stupid enough to consider paying a shipping company to bring it here if I can identify that it is the real deal.

By real deal, I mean that it has the MA suffix code on the pad in front of the right head and curious to know if it has a 60 or 61 date code on the intake behind the carb.

Also need to know when it last ran, how bad it smokes, knocks etc if known.

Not sure I can afford to ship it even if you were able to palletize or whatever so all this might be a mute point, but let me know your zip code so I can check around and see what kind of rates are out there.

Curious to know what 60-61 specific parts and options you have you are not using too?

Re: 61-62 283 with 2spd glide

The number on the block is F06IIMA and the intake is a 3746826 with a gm 19 casting. The powerglide has a G789935 cast on it. I bought this out of a truck and I didn't start it but I did crank it over. I just figure if I don't have the numbers matching motor for my truck then I may as well use the 327 I have. This does have a block crankcase breather on the back so it is pre 64. My zip is 97495 and I could pallet it for you.I don't have any 60-63 parts now but I am always looking and know where a few are. Let me know if you are interested and if you aren't I will ebay it. I guess this would be a rare beast as it is a powerglide casting number and 90% of the trucks had a manual trans or a 6 cylinder.

There is an antique tractor board I have used with guys that cross the US picking stuff up. I don't have it saved anymore but do a search, it was really cheap as they are travelling empty sometimes anyways.
