Re: I can't.....I.......I think i need professional help!

I'll use a little warped rationale here.....a drunk may claim he's a drunk because "the reason I drink is because there's a bar on the corner." The reason I buy pickup trucks is because of Craig'slist!!!"

My names Justin....and I have a problem. Trucks are an addiction but atleast the value is usually there on resale. And yes usually Craig and his List are at fault, I try and tell myself I gotta save up for a big shop that seems to help.....

Re: I can't.....I.......I think i need professional help!

Lol, too funny......our luck some smart dude would figure out he could take advantage of all of us and slip into these Tuesday night meet ups undercover as a fellow junkie and smooze one or more of into buying another truck!!!

My grandpa was a professional......metal farmer, amongst other things. When I was a snot nosed kid we would walk around his ranch and I'd ask about a particular truck, car or one of the 37 tractors parked out yonder......"hey granpa, does this one run?" To which he would always reply "oh yeah, it'll run" which was followed by either the long or short list of requirements to allow said vehicle to actually run.

I think one thing may be different from other common addictions... no two are the same, and just being around one you've never seen before sometimes feels just like the first time you tried it!

Re: I can't.....I.......I think i need professional help!

Thankfully I have a supportive wife. We were riding down the rode the other day, she said look at that truck. It was a 69-70 stepper. I stopped & looked. She bugged the crap out of me for days, are you going to buy it, are you going to buy it. It was too much or I would have. Now she blames me for letting one get away.

I will bring her to the Tuesday meetings also.

looks like there is no hope for us to get cured, now someone starts a new thread of craigslist finds. thats like putting crack on a table in front of a addict and telling them don't smoke it. W.T.F.

Re: I can't.....I.......I think i need professional help!

While I surely can appreciate a really nice, restored, clean, badazz truck, whats really funny to me is the rush or surge of excitement when you come across a rippin' deal on a fixer upper/builder truck for cheap. Cheap to me is 1500-4000 depending on the truck of course.
My girlfriend is getting numb to my "oh sh*t, look at this one....".

I have a very supportive wife also. On the previously mentioned 6 truck "bender" , she stood at the edge of a very packed driveway , and calmly stated " that's the way it's supposed to look".... couldn't play like this without her support!
