Auto trans to manual trans

I just drove my buddy's 71 SS nova with a M22 in her and now I'm ruined. The TH400 that i have in my truck is just not the same.

So my question is how hard or easy is it going to be to put a 5 or 6 speed mt in?
And what kind of transmission would be a good choice. The ones online that i have found are only good for 400 to 450 ft/lb torque, I have a 468 11:1 flat tapped cam that puts out a round 550 hp

Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Bobby

Re: Auto trans to manual trans

Might be a bit big, but a NV4500 would probably take it.

Re: Auto trans to manual trans

Thanks guys

Now I have a low hump floor. Will I need a high hump for the 5 or 6 speed? I did read some where that the bench seat might get in the way. Is this true?

I have a tko600 in mine. I put in a high hump pan, but a low hump might have done it. If you are going to race it, I would definately go with the 600... it wil live.
