My new 71

well i had a 72 originally, tore it all apart and started a frame off restoration... had a rust free tub, fully painted frame with a 6" lift and 37s... proceeded to part it all out and make a little money. well that money was burning a hole in my pocket, so i went out and found me a 71 with a 4 speed less than a week later! hopefully the pictures are in order... Plans for the new one are to fix the minor rust, replace all the seals and daily drive it!

Re: My new 71

Looks good, the weird blue paint on the bottom edge would be a red flag for rust covering, but otherwise looks like a fun rig. Hopefully your rust issues are no worse than your expecting. These blazers are getting harder to find, congrats on the buy.

Might want to update your signature, your '71 is feeling left out lol...

Yeah the blue is ugly but not covering anything, i think the PO just wanted a 2 tone paint job because its red underneath and the dash is red. Original color is Dark olive so once i address the rust it will be going back to that. Ill update that signature right now!

Re: My new 71

Got some work done over the weekend including new window seals so i was able to drive the truck to work today.
New bumper guard was a cool CL find. Ive never heard of Hobrecht but it bolted right up!

Re: My new 71

Spent some time in the driveway yesterday. Took the day off. put new plug wires on the truck since they look like the only thing the PO didnt replace when doing a tune up.. glad i did, cause i found that 4/8 spark plugs had backed off 4-6 turns! Also replaced some tie rods in the steering, greased up some ball joints, tightened down the motor mounts cause i found they were loose..... Oh the joys of buying a used truck. Dogs were also out enjoying that i was home and the sun was out

I like that step bumper. Heavy duty looking but not over powering to the Blazer

Re: My new 71

Well its been a busy month for me, Installed a 4" EZ ride all spring lift, added stainless brake lines up front, Ran 33s for a couple weeks till i decided it needed 35s, and also built a custom alumalite bikini top that uses the factory hard top mounting locations so no drilling required for mounting. Best of all it only cost me 12$
