Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Hi, all...Just joined the sight and attached photos are my reason for joining....It's a very original 1976 Cheyenne Camper Special with 454, auto, tilt, cruise, a/c, 138,000 babied miles and is as clean as a whistle....Not really a project as I can't think of anything it needs....Seller "threw in" the 1976 Dreamer cabover that came new with the truck...Had a '72 Custom Camper 20 years ago w/ a cabover when the kids were small----this one just made me feel too nostalgic and I had to have it...

Cadillac is still GM so that's not a big issue...but a Dodge grille on a GM truck? C'mon! Surely you can do better than a Dodge grille.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Hi here is my 85 Silverado that I got for the motor and trans to put in my 63 SWB. But after I drove it a few miles I thought this is to good of a truck to part out so it's now a keeper. The old guy that had it keep all the service records and it runs like new 91800 miles on it. I say old guy he's not that much older than me. It came with the canopy and only $1000 I was in the right place at the right time. He bought a new one and the dealer wouldn't give him what he wanted so I lucked out...Vernski

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

That's a steal for a grand, Vernski!...Great find...

Thanks for the comps on my Camper Special...It runs as smooth as it looks...Those are actually 31 10.50 x 16.5's on my truck, Tony...You bring up an interesting point...When I had my '72 CS about 25 years ago, the tire guys were telling me to switch to 16" rims, as they will be phasing out the 16.5's...My tires are almost new, but I wonder if I'll have trouble finding 16.5's down the road....

Your welcome! You can still find 16.5 tires but they are getting harder and harder to find. If the truck was 4x4 I would tell you to get some 37" hummer tires but they wont fit with your 2wd, if all else fails skid loader tires will work lol. If you ever decide to sell those wheels put them on here as someone is always looking for some of those.
