I have a '55 Chevy 2 Dr. wagon that is a far off future project that the rate I am going. Truck is getting closer but that leaves a '57 2 Dr. sedan that has drive line done but needs body and interior. Are you looking for some parts or just interested to see who has what sort of toys? Don't have much extra '55 stuff since I'm not sure what I will be using. I do have a '55 in-line six spare engine and the '55 in-line six that is still installed. I imagine the heads are good on both but the block in the body is a "boat anchor".

I don't have one but I went to a birthday party on saturday and a relative on the other side of the family drove his super clean 1955 (nomad?) 4 door wagon. It was spotless. Definitley a cruiser. He is going to enter it at Super Chevy at Va Motorsports Park in Sept/Oct (?) Very , Very nice. I wish I had brought a camera with me.........JB

55 delray

My 1st car was also a 55 chevy, 4 door, 3 on the tree, 6 banger, buckets frm a Vega and it was a whole lot of fun. Well I moved on to other vehicles of course and ran across a 55 chevy deray w/427 4spd about 15 years ago. I bought it and did some minor work to it and it has been in many weddings. I give a few 'elderly' people a ride in it and you can see that it brings back memories for them. this is the only car that is not for sale and will stay in the family for a long time.

It's in my garage right now with the motor out of it. The motor is at a friends shop all apart and we're looking for a good set of closed chambered oval port heads to rebuild. This winter I'm going to do a frame up on it and repaint it some time next spring.

I installed a set of vdo gauges a few years back and put them in the "cubby hole". I'm not much for hacking up dashes, I would prefer to keep things looking a 'stock' as posssible.

I had one also. Not as nice as some of yours. This is when I started it. I was in Japan at the time, so it made redoing it a wee bit troublesome. It started as a 327 w 4 speed. Later went to a 350. Eventually it went to black with flames. Wish I had some shots of it with the goof paint job, but I didn't have a camera back then..tended to put all my money in cars.

Same here. I've always preferred the post over hardtops. Trying to talk the wife into a new family vehicle...a 56 Chevy 4 door. Some how I haven't convinced her yet to get rid of the bonneville.

It is the "new" thing...

It is hard to understand logic, that "new" loses value & the"old" gain..

Good luck!

The only way we got ride of the Toyota was when it had less value than the K/5......

I know where one is sitting....

There is one infront of my apartment complex. It doesn't run I'm sure, it is located at a house across the street that leads to my place. it is sitting under a tree, looks real rusty, but seems to have all the parts from a far look. The old guy that lives there his name is Kyle, he has told me that the car is his brothers, and he's supposed to pick it up, he says he won't sell, but I can ask again. It looks long from needing to be picked up....like needing to be restored, If I had the money I would offer something for it.....but I don't....anyone interested...I'm in San Marcos TX....I can ask again see if he will budge.
