Re: young people with old trucks

Im 23 and have had way more trucks than i should have with all of them being pre-84 with exception of a 05,06,and my now DD 07 3500 Cummins powered ram. I bought my first truck a 71 c30 dumpbody when I was 13 and learned on my own..and the rest is history. the 68 Im building now and my 84 c30 are my babies. it's the same here too..ricers, ricers, and more ricers with an occasional (nicely done) mustang thrown in. There are almost zero bagged trucks around which stinks cuz I love to go cruisin in a pack. But then again, I did build somethin that nobody else had. Anyways keep turnin those wrenches young guys and keep learnin.

Re: young people with old trucks

I'm 18 now but I started on this truck when I was 15 and finished it when i was 17. My dad had owned it since he was about 20 so its been in the family for awhile. I just recently got the 55' for free and I've been working on that so it can be my DD.

Unhappy Re: young people with old trucks

there is a new sence in the Asian kids now here in Calif Its like what happened in the late 80's when it came to mini trucks every one did everything they could do to a mini trust and now it got to be boring. Its like the 1959--64 Impala's that faze came and gone.

And now the Imports are now suffering too now every one got into them small car's cus of Fast and the fureyes Most of the Asian guys want the Chevelles Chargers and old chevy trucks there looking for the Room and Plus they want to try there madness with this new technology going with electric motors and going Green. Most are looking for the old car's do to No smog in some states and they get a lot of looks where ever they go and there a investment.

So yes the young kids are going to come back to the old car's and truck But one problem will they be here when they come looking

Re: young people with old trucks

1985ChevyK20 When you come on a 67-72 chevy truck thread and slam a 67 what are you looking for? A pissing match? What if one of us were to go the the 73-87 thread and slam your trucks saying there not worth as much or something like that?
Please keep in mind people dont like it when people bring down there trucks just as you wouldnt like it either... Lets not get this thread closed. All chevy trucks look awesome, some people like some more than others. Just remember the old saying TO EACH HIS OWN.

Re: young people with old trucks

Well I'm 28 now but I got my 67 when I was 16 and in the meantime I have owned a 63c10swb,67 GMC, 69 C20 custom camper/CST 396, 72 C20, 72 c10 highlander, 63 dodge 440, 75 K20, 60 K10, And the newest truck I've ever owned is my 90 Dodge W250 CTD and its still my daily driver with 400,000 miles.

I've always been into old iron and dont realy care to own a GM truck newer than 91(1ton) or a Dodge newer than 93(Has to be a Cummins).

Here is the old junk I currently own.

Re: young people with old trucks

Lets see, I'm 23 and I've had my 70 GMC since I was 14, and purchased my 63 Nova and 68 K20 about 8 months ago after this last deployment and sold my 67 Chevelle 6 months ago.

We're into old cars, I drive mine more than most older people. I've driven 40 year old cars across the country more than most would be willing to do. Call me young and adventurous, but these rides used to be driven everywhere no matter the weather or distance.

(Oh, I do own a late model: 91.5 Dodge W250, but it's getting ripped apart after this deployment to donate the drivetrain to my K20)

Re: young people with old trucks

This is my first post and i drive old cars/trucks all the time (weather permiting). Im 19 years old and just started my 72 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. I already have a 454 going in it will hopefully be doing a write up with lots of pictures. Since i turned 16 i was driving my dad's 69 camaro 66 caprice 65 impala and alot more to school and everytime its nice all i can think about it gettin the old cars out! Love the Forum and so far found it very helpful on my build-in-progress.

Re: young people with old trucks

I'm 25! I feel like I'm still 16, so I still qualify right? I'm working on a '67 Stepside with a TBI fuel injected 350/700r4 Auto trans. I guess since it's not done, I can't drive it.... The day will come! Until then I'll keep drawing pictures of how I want it to look!

Re: young people with old trucks

Well you see a few older rides with the younger people driving them around my area but also alot of tuner stuff also. Luckly my 13 yr old likes the old trucks better so below is a pic of the truck we bought to fix up for him when he turns 16. I am so glad becouse when I was in high school (class of 90) I drove a 65 mustang that I bought when I was 14 and fixed it up to drive and I know I thought alot of that car and the kids that drove the new stuff just did not seem to care about their cars very much they tore the heck out of them.
