WTB: For Dana 44 front axle Hickey Enterprises diff cover

Anyone have an aluminum finned Vic Hickey enterprises Dana 44 diff cover to spare? I need one to pair with that for my 12 bolt rear diff cover shown below. Thanks! Pete

Re: WTB: For Dana 44 front axle Hickey Enterprises diff cover

Unfortunately, I don't have one for you. At least, I don't think so, but to be sure I have a couple of questions:

I am the 2nd owner (since the mid-80's) of a 1978 GMC Jimmy High Sierra that the original owner apparently went nuts with the Hickey catalog. About the only thing I don't have (that would be appropriate to a Jimmy) is the hood dang it. I definitely have the rear diff cover, and it looks identical to what you show in your picture but much dirtier of course. I don't think I have the front diff cover, but the reason I'm not sure is because according to the Hickey catalog on the Slosh Brochures site the front cover does not have the distinctive HE logo. It appears to look identical to the OEM cover but is "heavier duty" and chromed. I'd be very surprised to learn that my cover is chromed - never noticed it before in nearly 30 years of ownership. But it is SO grungy and dirty who knows?

I'd be willing to check further tomorrow, but I thought I'd check first to see if what you actually want is a different style that maybe actually has the HE logo. I've attached the page showing the diff covers from the Slosh site, as I don't think the link above will go directly there. It is page 11 of the catalog.

Thanks for replying! Your 78 sounds great. Here's a pic of the diff cover I'd like to find or something very close. If you know of one I could get my hands on I'd be grateful. Thanks again. Pete

Re: WTB: For Dana 44 front axle Hickey Enterprises diff cover

Doh! I just noticed that the catalog indicates the REAR diff cover can't be installed with the replacement tank. I have the 38 gallon Hickey replacement tank in my Blazer - maybe with the 4 inch lift it will fit. I'll have to crawl under and see.

Re: WTB: For Dana 44 front axle Hickey Enterprises diff cover

My 78 also has the 38 gal tank, and for the majority of its existence it never had any lift at all. No sign of interference.

Great photo of the finned front diff cover. It makes sense that it should match the rear, not sure why Hickey made a chrome one for a while. Seems tacky compared to the aluminum.

Thanks. Keep me in mind if you see another. I've seen some that resemble the Hickey but lack the logo and design is slightly different. Pete

I was at a junk yard months ago and they had a HE cover on the front diff for a chevy. I should have pulled it.

Not to unintentionally butt in on the thread...

I have a single (lost the other) aluminum off-road light bracket that mounts above the upper windshield seal to the cab itself. Can't remember if its Hickey or Mickey Thompson anyone ever seen these?

I'll have to find it to post a pic.
