my new 69 Chevy custom 30 flat deck

looking for help to restore this gem, apparently it was used in an apple orchard for 40 years, speedo says 33,000 miles(original?) 396 was replaced with 350, lots of interesting options, have a look at the build sheet (three originals found in the truck! ) ps,pb,full tint, pinstripe,dg4 mirrors, red cloth interior, big block 396

i am looking to restore(but keep original paint) :-)

any help finding parts would be greatly appreciated , looking for orig. DG4 mirrors, hockey puck light lenses, original flat deck ,antenna, etc.

does anyone have a source for a red cloth seat cover?

Re: my new 69 Chevy custom 30 flat deck

I think 396's are around. Nobody wants them much, anymore. LS mania is so prevalent, and anyone wanting a big block wants something bigger than a 396...

I'd like to know more about that 69/70 in the background!!!

Re: my new 69 Chevy custom 30 flat deck

might have found a 69 chevelle 396 for it. the gold and white 70 Chevy shorty is original from Florida, 305 4bbl, cam, 2 1/2" ext manifolds, 700r4,A11 full tinted glass, steel bed, great cruiser. the gold is original paint /white has been redone. orig 200s 15x7 on front, orig 15x8.5 widened to 15x10(5 1/2" backspace now)

Nice truck!

Hopefully you go back to the big block! There are lots of options out there although I'm completely unfamiliar with your neck of the woods!

Watch CL like a hawk and you may just run across something you can use. Right now there are some #049 heads and an intake on Vancouver CL.

What are your plans on this one? Stock ride height, clean it up and enjoy or lower it with airbags?

a 2" drop in front, find a 396 again, p30 19.5 wheels, call mr dent remover, polish old paint, new bumper , much better used grille, find correct dg4 mirrors and hockey puck lenses

I like both your trucks! Unless my eyes are bad, both our 69's were made on the same day at Fremont. 12-05-68. Yours had a longer train ride!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Yep, it looks great. Now you have a nice looking truck that you can actually use. The best of both worlds.....
