All of my front steering components are Moog as well. The box is a reman from Rock Auto for a mid 70's and was advertised as 3 turns lock to lock. If I remember right it was a Lares or a A-1 Cardone. The pitman arm was from the same year and is a Moog K6143.

I'll jump in here and HIGHLY recommend a steering gearbox from AGR Performance. A few years ago I installed one on a 1966 C10 that I converted to 69-up steering. I can't even begin to describe how good it felt compared to stock gears in 69, 81, and 82 trucks I've owned. It is absolutely precise and has a firm on-center feel, with no wondering left-to-right until you turn the wheel.

Highest praise I can give the AGR box is it feels similar to my 2016 Mustang GT's steering. In other words it tracks straight as an arrow and responds immediately to input (assuming your steering and suspension components are in good shape).

AGR is located in Fort Worth, TX, but you can buy from Summit Racing.

We got back on the never ending firewall project today. Welded up the corner piece I made. Skim coated the passenger side with Dynaglass and roughed it in with a long board. After much back and forth we decided the firewall harness channel needed to go away. It is just plain ugly. I had some scrap 18ga so we boxed it in.

Awesome. Small world indeed. I raced at Mid State in the 90's. We always used a ton of stuff including engines from S&M.

Loving the truck build so far. You guys are ahead of me so I will be watching this build for good ideas.

They are c5 corvette brakes from Kore 3. I really like having an oem based system mainly because parts are readily available if you break down. The owner, Tobin is very knowledgable and has great customer service. Every classic car we have has Kore 3 stuff.

get your son out in the garage now,I have pics of my son, (now 24) in my garage at 1 1/2 or two helping me build my woodsplitter, he would draw (scribble)all over it with soapstone,,,I welded his and my names on it and the year 1994, good memories, we built a couple of trucks for him,he has them both still, one was a 70 gmc C20 converted it to K20 when he was 14, but he wanted the truck when he was 8, have pics of him washing it at 8 years old, held onto it until he was older and he still wanted it, thus the 4x4 conversion, he still has and loves that truck, then we converted a 75 2 wheel drive Toyota pickup to a 4 wheel drive when he was 18, that is his "wheeler" good times and my son can build almost anything himself now

It will not rust. If it starts to get dull, you can hit it again with steel wool or a scotch pad.

I pretty much finished with the firewall project. One more coat of primer and another round of blocking and it will be there. I'm very happy with how it turned out and it was definitely worth the extra effort. I want an extremely sanitary engine compartment and I think this was a step in that direction.





I need to get a few buddies to come over and help me put the cab on its back. I need to get the bottom of the floors clean and address the bad front cab supports.

I havnt updated for a while because I changed my plans a little after finishing my chassis. After looking at all of the killer builds on here that are on the ground, I knew this is what I wanted to do to our truck. I wish I would have known about Porterbuilt before I bought the Ridetech stuff but live and learn I guess. If I was going to change the course of our build, now was the time to do it.

I recently sold my existing chassis without the 12 bolt and Kore 3 brakes and replaced it with another 67 SWB frame that I got from a member on here. I have already cut all the rivets and stripped it down to bare rails. I have front and rear extreme drop members and all the other PB goodies on order to get the stance I want.

It's going to be hard to wait for the PB parts to arrive but It will be worth it in the end. While we are waiting for Everything to come in, I'm going to finish assembling the engine, finish the metal work on the cab and try to start collecting parts so I'm ready when everything gets here.

I also need to figure out how I'm going to raise the bed floor. This is my only unknown right now. I'm probably going to steal ideas from several on here.

I have read thread after thread of guys eagerly waiting on PB parts so now I get to go through it. It's kind of a right of passage I guess.

This website is good for making you change your plans I keep looking at my build and saying...."hmm I should just go ahead and c notch it, hmm I should go ahead and get 3" exhaust and 1 7/8 headers in case I turbo, etc etc"

If your going full porter built and sitting in the weeds its gonna be sick!
