1995 intermittent popping through speakers

1995 Chevy truck, 350tbi 73k orig. miles. This just started a week ago. Sometimes while driving there will be a popping sound that comes through speakers when the brake is applied, turn signal, etc. Lights on the dash will flash and the idle will drop. I know it is electrical but not sure where to start. Sometimes just sitting at a traffic light it will pop and almost die. Thanks for the input.

Agreed, truck does have trailer brake and mount for snowplow. The snowplow wiring is disconnected.

I'd look around for a bad ground as well. There should be a big cable from the battery to the intake manifold, a smaller one to the fender, and one on the back of the passeger side head to the firewall. There are also ground points on the inside of the firewall.

Maybe when the snowplow was disconnected it effected the ground connection.

Re: 1995 intermittent popping through speakers

The grounds and battery cables all appear to be in good condition. While driving last night with the cruise on, went to signal a lane change and it popped and kicked out the cruise and dash warning lights flashed. The battery has a double connection on the positive terminal, one cable to the starter another goes to the fuse/power box on the driver side engine compartment. This looks to a factory cable, does this sound correct?

Yes, the starter is activated by the solenoid to pull current directly from the battery, and the fuse block on the driver's side is where the accessory power cable goes.
