Re: copperhead video tapes

I haven't wanted to speak about this project because of the many delays/hurdles that have had to be overcome, but it seems a status update seems in order.

I am working on finalizing the Copperhead DVD project, several members
have contributed episodes, the last of which is on it's way to me as I type this.

I've sent out the "draft" edit of the DVD project to those that have contributed, they can speak if they desire, after I get the last episode
the episodes can be named, finishing touches added and DVD's will be
available.

I plan on burning to DVD's using a lightscribe burner, which for those that
aren't computer geeks means there will be a label burned on the DVD.

When the project is done I'll forward a set of DVD's to those that have contributed to the project for review(currently takes 2) and then DVD's will be made available to the members. and I am trying to make the files available for download for those that prefer it. Potentially via torrent or FTP server.

That is all for now
Chris

Re: copperhead video tapes

Because I've had some inquiries I think its important to post the following info:

The copperhead DVD project is a non-profit effort, when the DVD's are
available they will not be sold for profit. A "donaiton" to cover the costs
associatted with the project will most likely be requested. If the proceeds
exceed the costs incurred they will be donated to the board.

Please, until I announce that the DVD's are ready do not PM or email
me requesting information, etc.

Regards
Chris

Re: copperhead video tapes

taking money for it would be a blatant violation of copyright laws and land someone's keester in the slammer (or in debt). i understand the appreciation, but keep in mind that a couple of bucks from anyone isn't worth several thousands of dollars from a lawsuit

Thanks for the clarification Chris. I am sure you are getting more emails than you were expecting, as I was one of them. I am also glad you clarified payment terms. Keeping things above board is very important. Thanks to all for making this possible.

Re: copperhead video tapes

i got the phone number for RTM Studios in Tennesee - they are the ones that shoot and publish a lot of our magazines and the entire "Powerblock" series on Spike TV. i think i'm going to call them and ask what the deal is - they let you download episodes through Amazon and iTunes, but they only do this with the 2006/2007 episodes with the Stone Cold Steve Austin lookalike (the meathead) and the guy who used to paint for Stacey - you can't buy/download the old 2005 and earlier episodes with Stacey and all of the cooler projects that us classic truck guys like to work on.

i emailed the guys @ Trucks (the new dudes) and asked about the shows - 24 hours and no response yet

also, i hunted high and low on the internet...i absolutely could not find the one (or maybe two) episodes i am missing. i found at least three dozen other posts at various forums on the internet asking the same thing: "how can i get my hands on a copperhad DVD?!". even Stacey's new "Gearz" TV forum had a half dozen posts asking. some of these questions dated back almost 18 months, and always got the same answer, if any: "RTM is holding out on releasing them. They said they were gonna, but they still haven't come trhough on that promise"

this is a list of the edited, fairly good quality, commercial free rips i have from a Tivo:

1_Trucks! - Copperhead Suspension
2_Trucks! - Copperhead Chassis
3_Trucks! - Copperhead Engine
5_Trucks! - Copperhead Recap
6_Trucks! - CopperHead Details
7_Trucks! - Copperhead Payoff #1
8_Trucks! - Copperhead Payoff #2
A_Trucks! - [BONUS] Custom Metal Work

as you can see, i don't have a #4, which i think is the part where he reassembles the body and builds/installs the bed and bed wood (this could be two different episodes). the last one up there simply shows how to shave the doors, marker lights, gas cap and french the license plate on a 67-72 pickup, which is of interest to people here. there is even one other episode that i thought i have (might have it somewhere) which shows how to modify our front bumpers to make them tuck some more...but again ... i guess my roommate musta deleted it off my Tivo before i kicked his ass out so my fiance (now wife) could move in.

bad part is, each of those episodes i just listed above are almost 400MB in size! for 15 minutes worth of show!! amazing!

anyway ... yeah. i'm so close! one, or maybe two more episodes and i got everything needed to make a chaptered DVD. i wish RTM would make my life easier and just sell the shows on Amazon for $1.99 each like the new '06/'07 episodes are!!

Re: copperhead video tapes

Yes, I got a DVD from moneyguru, and need to get the time to compile everything. I spent an entire weekend hauling stuff down to FL and back, and didn't have an opportunity to work on it.

It's almost there.

No rush just knowing all the episodes are in one spot is good for me

I would like to be added to the list as well, but I feel like you are going to be bombarded with orders.

Thank you for the extra effort that everyone has put into trying to pull all the episodes together, it is truly appreciated!

Re: copperhead video tapes

Hey Shifty can you put me on yer list to For a copy. I think I may have found a solution to the Money problem. I used to be on a board where media was shared and the way they got around the cost was they simply would ask the person(S) Who wanted a copy to Mail them a Blank and then they would Mail them back the copy. This is just a suggestion. Also once one copy goes out the person who gets it can also make copy's if they got the correct software to do so ..... So it would just spread like a worm kinda.
