Newbie here, looking for info

What's up guys? My son and I just purchased a brand new to us '71 LWB C20 last weekend. We are new to Chevys but just finished a mild restoration on a '66 F100 last year, so we were looking for something different and found the Chevy. This truck seems so simple to work on, so I'm really looking forward to getting started, and man does it ride like a dream compared to the F100. So my first question to you guys is how can I get more info on this truck? Ford had everything on the warranty tag on the door, is there a way to decipher the sticker in the glove box or the vin? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. First, see if your numbers match. Glove box SPID >> Driver's door jam >> Frame.
P.S. That's not a 71' grill or side mirrors.

Thanks, I'll check those to see if they match. Where is the one on the frame located exactly? I knew the grill wasn't correct cuz the original was in the back of the truck. Wasn't sure about the mirrors, would it take the smaller style just under the vent window? There are 2 holes there that I figured were for mirrors.

The number on the frame (top) by the power steering is a partial of the VIN.

It does not specify the Chassis Type, GVW Range or Model Code (hence, not the same scheme).
It should match the second half of the VIN on the glovebox SPID

I'm not sure about what mirror were on there, but it sounds like you had sport mirrors there possibly.
