Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I went and looked at my finished frame and engine thats in a garage 10 miles away. Been swamped with preparing for my teaching job, small engine repair and a 69 Cougar that runs like crap.

Need to start on stripping and priming the doors. So much for getting the body home before Fall!

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Installed the rear seat brackets I got off board member 1968K20 I thought about prepping and painting them but decided not to. This suburban isn't perfect and I like it that way.

Now I can sit in the back seat and make vroom vroom noises...

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Tried out some aluminum polish on my wheels. First pic, before washing. Second pic, after washing and before polishing. Third pic, after polishing. It's amazing what a little (ok a lot of) polish will do!

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Nice long weekend gave me a day to knock a couple items off the burb to-do list:

1) tighten ac & ps belts
2) install carb heat insulator
3) oil change
4) reset timing after changing vac advance from manifold to ported
5) tighten valve cover
6) raised fuel line off of valve cover some
7) check front springs & shocks to help determine amount lowered & part numbers if possible
8) tighten clamps & bolts that appeared to be leaking coolant

Looks like quite a bit to me. That kind of stuff always takes longer than you think it is going to......

I'm curious in that answer too, for tools and products. I current use Mothers because it has a protectorant (sp?) in addition to cleaner. For chrome, I found it lasts longer than McGuire's w/o protectorsomeorother. I still haven't been able to remove all the older stains yet though. I use drill and a foam ball applicator. Otherwise, it'd take way too much elbow grease.

Got my prop valve, vette master cylinder and finally have all the brake lines hooked up. Still need to run a bracket for the prop valve now.

I agree and thought the same thing. Then I figured the way the boys were fighting over the trophy, by the time we made it back to the Burb no one would have been smiling.

Took the daily summertime driver in Maine to a car show at local park (with a lighthouse) and let people touch it!

Love seeing all the car show pics!

Put it up on jacks to get ready to rebuild the Dana60 and turn down the dually hubs...
