shock question.....
I have a '54 GMC sitting on a '69 Chevy C10 frame. The front coil springs have been cut (I'm guessing 2" - 3") and there are 2" lowering blocks in the back. The back coils appear to be stock. The back end is very bouncy so I'm guessing it needs new shocks. Any one have an idea as to what shocks might be on the truck or how to figure out what would work without visually comparing shocks at the auto parts store?

Pull a shock and get the measurements for extended and collapsed. Also grab the diameter. With that info and the bolt retention style a real parts store should be able to hook you up.

I would start by looking at factory replacements for the 69 frame it is sitting on. For aftermarket they do make shorter ones that might be what you need. Like was said just check the length against what you have. It might be work a shot.
