Re: Simple Green

I got the idea from a guy on the hamb forum, he had good results with the setup. Here is a pic he had were he used a single dual voice coil speaker for an original dash mount single.

Re: Simple Green

I have seen that done on early VW's as well.

It works well to break up the road noise.

Plenty loud with the advances in audio component materials and technology.

Re: Simple Green

I want to try something like that in mine. I'm just afraid it won't be loud enough because my truck is LOUD. I want to mount the amps and smaller speakers under the dash and 2 subs under the bench.

Re: Simple Green

Kicker makes a cool little setup like that with a iPod remote. So you can stash your iPhone/iPod in the glovebox or under seat. The model is PXi50x2.

It's in the news update on kicker.com headline is "amplified controller for iPhone/iPod"

Re: Simple Green

Sounds pretty good and I like the simplicity of it. How is the bass outta those speakers? A lot of the music I listen to is bass heavy (metal and stoner rock, not hippity hop) so I need something with some punch.

Re: Simple Green

Thanks. I wouldn't say it's hard hitting bass but more of a strong mid range thump.

Re: Simple Green

Damn that sounds a lot louder than I expected. Is that just the in dash speaker? Or is it with those 2 extra speakers in the other vid?

Great truck & great detail building it! I'd like to ask,in post 9 you show a low hump & high hump floor....you mention the high floor being standard. Why do you think your truck had the low hump floor in it? I'm in the process of getting a 63 short bed fleetside with a 283 w/ glide, what floor should it have? BTW what year & model truck did you get the high hump floor?
Maybe one day my truck will be similar....

Re: Simple Green

I'm no pro but what I believe is a low hump is a automatic or 3 on the tree floor and 4 speed floor shifts had high humps. I got it from a board member johnzcustom not sure on year but it was a bolt in style.

Thanks

Re: Simple Green

Not sure on that one. This truck had a one piece Originally, went two piece for clearance with the Porterbuilt system.

Re: Simple Green

Hey Jesse, nice sound set up...Do you have pics on the enclosed pioneer speakers under your seat (exactly where you put them) I just finished the interior on my truck pretty much like yours and looked under my bench seat and their aint much room under there? Thanks..

Re: Simple Green

Sure thing. I had to install the speakers first then put the seat over them. Also the fat mat made a big difference on inside cab sound deadening.
