'91 OBS Clean-up

Greetings everyone, I decided to start a "Clean-up" thread since I did not build the truck but I purchased it "finished". Had some issues to work out on it and some up-dating. I am going to try to keep this up to date as I make progress. Plans are just to make it a clean driver/cruiser. Thanks for looking.

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

I purchased the truck without the Billets, so I bought some Torque Thrusts for it as I do not enjoy polishing billet wheels. We also replaced the factory control arms with a set from Nfamus

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

We added the Seamless air tank along with all new fittings and a valve block from Thorbros. Cleaned up the wiring and moved the air gauge to the ash tray. My first truck was that way.

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

I have been putting some decent miles on the truck now and it is finally enjoyable. Next on the list is to change out the interior. Hope to have that ready in the next few months.

On to some Pics:

Nice truck man, believe I have a picture of it when the PO had it. Remember it looking for fresh at LST. Surprised it looked like that underneath. Keep up the clean-up for sure!

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

Next step was dealing with the over-heating issue. I took the truck to my good friends at Pristine Custom Paint in Tomball TX and they fabricated a fan shroud that included dual electric fans. They also re-wired some things under the hood and relocated the battery tray to the rear under the bed in advance of installing the Slosh Tubz on the next trip to their shop. (under bed will be coated with some sort of undercoating during the next step) here are a few pics.

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

Replacement aftermarket Sport mirrors all the way.

I've never cared for those OE SS larger units. I even have a larger version (the OE black mirrors) on my 99 CC 3/4 ton SWB (the same ones that you were running) & like them better vs. those SS units. Your truck & your choice though.

Needed to rebuild the suspension on the truck a couple months ago. Mark at Slaughterhouse in Tomball Tx. did the work.

Re: '91 OBS Clean-up

Here is the engine we are installing. it is a 5.3 with 55K miles. we changed out the water pump and coils. We are using the Speed Engineering shorty headers and had them Cerakote coated. We have the BP Stand alone harness and using the Sanden A/C Compressor along with the Vintage air system.
