I've looked at every forum I could find about radiators and now I'm just more confused. There are no current posts I could find on what is not having leaking issues after a short time. It kills me to pay $1500+ for a radiator that has a good chance of having problems. What have you currently bought and used that you have had good luck with ? Going in a 72 C10 with a LM7 and a Tremec magnum. I in Fla and will run air so I need something that will handle the heat.

I have a Cold Case radiator that is a dual pass. Both the upper and lower hose barbs are on the RH side and is designed for an LS conversion. It will handle 100 degree temps with the A/C blowing and a trans cooler mounted out front.

I used a DeWitts LSX Modified Radiator
Made in the USA with a Guarantee.
I used the same company for my Corvette. I haven't heard of a single complaint from this company. The LS bare finished radiator is $900. It doesn't come with any fans.

The ice black version with fans is $1600. I paid $1200 a little over a year ago.
I previously purchased a China radiator before going full tilt.
It was advertised for our trucks and didn't even fit the factory bracket locations.
The shroud was too close to the radiator as to make much of the surface are ineffective.
The Dewitt even has flaps that open when you are at speed to keep the need for the fans down. Lots of options.
Even some keep the stock radiators and use the long cross over hose like on the trucks.
The bleeder hose from the heads and be added to any hose using the adapter found on eBay. Picture attached.
I found the inexpensive radiators a frustration I didn't need.
Do what is best for your budget and frustration tolerance. I found it only hurts once if quality is purchased.

Well, I would agree that $1500 seems like an excessively high price for a radiator for an old truck (especially considering that a oem radiator for a late model truck with an LS could be purchased for less than $300) but I don't think it says that somebody spending a lot for a radiator isn't smart. Different people have different priorities. I personally wouldn't spend $500 for a radiator for my truck, but I might buy buy $1000 worth of higher end accessories for my budget adventure bike. It's my money and my choice. There's a lot worse ways to spend money.

I have the 2-row Cold Case. It bolted right in where my old 4-row brass GM radiator went.

I can comment about what I have used. Four Seasons, made in USA, is in one of my modified cars (383 Gen 2 LT1/T56) and has worked perfectly for several years. I also have a Cold Case in my 67 Camaro. It is made offshore as the $ would reflect but does have a lifetime guarantee. IDK if they make anything for custom builds like a LSX in a C10 so US company like Four Season or DeWitts one post notes would be the direction to head or find something from a modern car/truck that uses the engine you have and see it it can be mounted efficiently in the C10. Junk yard with fans?? I assume it will be a "coolant recovery" type (external tank fill) radiator. Don't cheap out on fans

I appreciate the responses. I've looked at all that were mentioned and most of late are having problems with leaks for some reason. I can't see myself spending almost $1800 with shipping/tax for a freaking radiator. If I get aluminum it has to have a lifetime warranty for that money..... I found Engineered Cooling Products and it $750 plus ship/tax, anyone have experience with them ?

I bought a $143 radiator off of ebay, back in March. Took a 100 mile trip Saturday in 105 degree weather with A/C running the entire time. Cooled just fine.

Engineered Cooling Products yes, that's what I have but I don't know about the $750 one, I just have the one that's $297 for a stock setup. I guess you're needing something special that matches the engine. I do like the lifetime warranty, we'll see how that pans out.

When I was looking, I called a few custom radiator manufacturers. The prices varied greatly, but one thing I was told was that the cores were all coming from China. The tanks were made in USA and welded on the core, but there is/was a core shortage and getting a radiator would take a while.

I am not sure which company actually makes a core in the USA, but before you drop serious cash on a supposed American radiator, you might want to ask.

They do but are close to $800 with fan/relay and only have a one year warranty.

I've had a engineering cooling products radiator in my Camaro for 6yrs now with no problems. It solved my heating issues in slow traffic. Bought one for my 72 K10 also.

Looking at recent reviews of these big dollar radiators isn't good. I'm putting some money in this truck but a $1800 radiator isn't going to be in that stack. I think if I could find a decent radiator with both hose ends on the passenger side (I hate the coolant hose running across the front of the engine) I'm going to try that. I'll get a good set of fans/shroud and see how it flies. I'm building this truck from the frame up so changing a radiator is in my wheelhouse.... Thanks again..

What did you install this in? How was the fitment, were you able to use the stock mounting brackets/rubbers?

I use a LT1 so my radiator is different but I use Champion Radiators in my truck and in my Challenger. Heres a link to thier LS conversion radiator
