Cool Transgo 2&3 shift kit

Hey fellow gear heads...my 700r4 has taken a turn for the worse and i decided to order a rebuild kit which includes a transgo 700 2&3 shift kit. I keep seeing this .500 boost valve in many discussions and articles. I like to have a nice firm shift but i dont want it to be ridiculous as this truck is my daily driver. I have the corvetter servo in an otherwise stock tranny..i could tell a big difference with it installed. Is this kit going to increase the shift response alot more without the .500 boost? Or should I get it? Is it going to be rough on my U-JOINTS if i install it? (My first build btw)
