Post Painless Wiring install

Helped popeye72 install his painless wiring kit last week. The install was fairly easy. If you guys use one of these kits, make sure that you leave the existing Air conditioning/heat harness hooked up. The connections that painless supplies won't work. They don't even make the correct ones, but the kit will wire into your existing harness. Other than that, just take your time and read the directions as many times as it takes to fully understand them, and your installation will be successful. Good luck!

It's about an 8-10 hour install, it goes much easier with two people.

I didn't get a painless kit but one real similar - and I'm in the process of installing it now. What did you have to do for your gauge cluster - as far as the wiring harness is concerned?

The kit plugged into the cluster with no mods. Just plugged it in! With the painless kit, the fuse block is wired. All you have to do is stretch out the wires and run them to there destination. The wires are grouped into sections (engine section, headlight section, taillight section, and interior section) and each wire is labeled every 10 inches. Even a sailor can install it (or 2 sailors) hehe

Sounds like I have an identical kit (wires grouped and labeled) just no plugs for the instrument cluster. I guess my wiring skill will have to come into play.

Mine was from EZWiring. They have an 18 panel 21 circuit harness for $195. All wires are black and are labled every 5 or so inches. Everything has gone smooth so far and plenty of length on the wires.
