I agree with some that posted here. I'd want to lower it some too, and put some fresh rims on it. I wouldn't go too extreme (2/4), and save all the old parts in case I'd want to go back to factory when the lowered craze has passed. You have a great looking truck.. keep us posted as to your 'improvements'.

If you don't have information concerning his questions, then I really don't see a need for a reply.

Now for my opinion: It's your truck and the guys that are telling you how to build YOUR truck are jealous that they don't have something as nice to work with. I know I am.

BTW: Killer truck bro ... lower it till it drags the front bumper off! Stock Height Sucks!

I've always thouht it was hard to beat factory rally wheels. Even if I were to break down and paint my rustbucket so it looked nice, I'd keep the rallys, and I also prefer the stock ride height.

thanks for eveyones comments.. the stock stance wont be sticking around here to long, haha the rear is 3 inches higher then front i think.. stock rake from what ECE tells me... i hate it.. it sits way to high.. if you get a pic of my truck on flat ground from a side view it sits way to high in the rear.. so i think either a 2/5 or a 3/6 drop.. i really dont know what to do.. untill i get it out of storage and measure. the paint is fadded out pretty good.. the hood has been repainted in the last few years to take care of some spots.. once i get it out.. in another month i will take a load of pictures and post them for eveyone to see.

Joelboxt, your truck does look great just the way it is w/the 15's & current stance.

But, since your asking about a dropped truck that has larger diameter wheels, it appears you want some changes. Nothing wrong w/that..... it's your truck. From someone who is older, make sure your changes are reversible should the desire ever come up to put it back as it is now.

A mild drop, even a radical drop when planned properly, doesn't have to ruin a truck. Make well engineered choices & don't hack it up. A stock height truck w/worn components isn't better than a properly lowered truck, and an improperly slammed truck isn't better than stock height w/a fresh rebuild. For a mild drop, get a drop kit from ECE or someone similar. They match their stuff so that everything works well together. If you want more drop, try airbags. They offer a better ride @ a given height & can be adjusted when needed.

For wheels, just try & keep the tire sidewalls tall enough to prevent wheel lip damage from potholes & you'll be fine. No, short sidewall tires won't ride as good as tall '75' series tires, but they're not that bad either & offer better control @ speed. As for decent size tires, try a 245-45-18 for 18's up front on a 8" wheel/5"bs & 295-40-20 on a 20x9.5" or 10" wheel w/proper bs if using 20's out back.

There aren't to many wheel companies that make 19's (and fewer tire size choices), but they are out there. AmericanRacing doesn't make 19's. Billet Specialties does in selected styles. Most typically jump from 18's to 20's & larger. Stick w/what your budget allows (& if that means 15's than that's fine too).

ya i love the medium olive green must be the solid green tho.. was thinking when i paint it.. would go back to the white upper cab and the white between the trim down the truck.. doesnt look good i dont think.

but guff did a nice job.. i really like it.

easy solution: Do what I'm going to do. Drop it with springs first - say .... 2/4. If you need to go lower, start replacing other suspension components. This will also be a great, inexpensive first step at letting you play with different rims so you can get an idea of what it will look like.

might look into gonig 1 and 4 for now to level it out see how it goes. shouldn't cost to much.. i think ECE springs are 114.99 each.. not sure on the shipping. will i need another pan hard bar? is it best to get the new shock relocators? and new shocks too?
