I tried running a direct ground to the fuel and speedometer but nothing changes.
Not sure if you got this resolved? I just got mine installed, I am running a 700R4. Mine Speedo works great as do all my gauges. My only issue it my clock keeps resetting to 12:00. Need ot investigate more as it is hooked up to constant 12v. The clock seems to only need to 1 red wire hooked up and ground.

I don't understand why anyone would want these gauges. Digital stuff in cars went out back in the late 80's early 90's.

To each their own. Part of the contributing factor to digital gauges being phased out was unreliable digital readings coupled with technicians that were rapidly being introduced to increasing electronic components and their associated faults.
