I have worked with megasquirt and it is A LOT of messing around and guess work (and if you are not familiar with what the fuel trims should be you might detonate your engine. and in the long run is a lot more expensive than a blow thru setup, roughly you will have the same power and if your carb is tuned right there is no fuel economy gains with the tbi either, now if you have hundreds of hours with a dyno and MEGA dollars to build a direct injection head with cross flow setup then you would have some power and fuel econ gains.

The manifold is made by SPA turbo.... If you order it through DEI they are about $150 cheaper than everybody else. but SHHHH dont tell them that or they will jack the price... the only downside is you have to drill and tap new holes and bore the center out for the wastegate due to the fact that Tial wastegates have 2 holes and a 38mm valve and the manifold is setup for some brazilian wastegate that has 3 holes and and a ridiculously smalll valve. you will also have to cut the center out of the flange on the manifold, as it is setup for a split flange turbo and most turbo's that fit this are not split, also as it is, it wont let the front 3 cylinders waste out the wastegate... so by cutting out the center divider all 6 can evenly wasteout rather than just the rear three, it will help keep pressures more equal.

I am using a new rear axle from a 1972 c10 pickup that is already 5 bolt so I dont have to switch the bolt pattern if you have the 6 bolt setup you can get new axles that have the 5 bolt pattern for $200 or get 71-72 used rear axle for ~$150 give or take

Oh yeah I forgot to add if your buying 6 lug 72 rotors for the front because you want to keep the 6 lug pattern just use the stock 91 silverado rotors because they are already the 6 on 5.5 pattern, no need to get blanks and redrill.

Thanks, that's good to know.

As for the megasquirt, i realize it may be a huge headache but i want to try it anyway. A friend of mine set it up from scratch on two turbo cars of his so i'm hoping his knowledge will help.

The funny thing is that is how they came from the factory on this particular truck. It was a one owner truck, and I even questioned the fender markers when I picked up the truck, and he showed me photos of it on the day that he picked it up at the dealership after he ordered it... back in '67. The photos were date stamped so it was kinda hard to argue that they werent there. I asked for copies of the photos but he wouldnt take them out of the binder as he was afraid to "damage the photos". I am still working on his nephew to convince his uncle to get me copies. However, I really perfer the look of them not being there so I will weld in plates where the hole is.

So, I got the front crossmember taken off the rest of the miscellaneous hangers and other crap taken off the frame and the frame sandblasted. Took a heck of a lot longer than planned. Either way its done. Hopefully I can get it painted this next week and pick up more blasting media to finish the rest of the parts. I cant wait for reassembly that is when the fun part begins.

It's fairly common with these trucks that some year specific things actually showed up in other years. I've seen a small window 68 and a large window 67, both original trucks. The usual excuse that comes up is the factory used the parts that were available and there was some crossover at some years changes. Some 72 blazers came with double wall tops when most had sngle wall tops. There are probably 71's with the 70 style gas pedals and 72's with rear view mirrors mounted to the cab roof.

So I have completed sandblasting the entire frame, 2 coats of POR 15, and then a coat of Gloss Black Tractor Enamel. I think that should keep it looking nice for a long time.

Would those be 3/4 ton 2wd rotors? Intersting. I bought my 6 lug rotors from CPP. I figured they had to be stock for something but could never find anything.

I just realized I miss wrote that surprised no one caught that till now... what I was trying to say is if you wanted the 6 lug for pattern use the stock 91 silverado rotor. They are not the 3/4 ton as those are all 8 lug. '72 was a 5 lug setup 1/2 ton and 8 lug 3/4 ton. if your going to use a 6 bolt rim and tire on anything using the HD spindle that is when you can use that rotor. If i confused you more let me know I can try to reword it again.

So are you saying use the 91 rotor as a templete to drill with?

I looked on autozone.com and they show a 6 lug and an 8 lug rotor for the 3/4 ton.

I am useing 73-87 spindles and got 6 lug rotors from cpp for $130.00. I would like to find a parts store alternetive though.

1)For the front: If your going 5 lug just use the stock 72 rotor. if your going 6 lug use the 91 silverado stock set
For the rear: I use 91 silverado blanks and then redrill 5x5. If going 6 lug leave them stock.

2) which years???

3) I pay $125 plus shipping for cross drilled and slotted rotors for the front with 5x5 pattern.

Much of this info has been given to me by someone who builds and sells these kits for these trucks, this is what I have and will be installing on my truck in the next few weeks/ months. I will not disclose who has given me information as I would rather not make waves although just by posting all of this I probably already am, however anyone who digs deep enough can find this info as I did.

1. I am only asking about the fronts. Yes I know you can use the stock 72 for 5 lug, I'm only interested in the 6 lug. So you say the 1991 3/4ton 6 lug rotor will fit on our old spindles?

2. I looked up a 1991 1/2 ton 2wd truck

First off 1967-1972 did not all have the same spindles. 63-70 was one style spindle and then 71-72 was a different spindle, and 73-87 a different spindle again. Based on what I have been told, being that i have the 5 bolt pattern only to confirm for sure, the 1991 3/4 ton C-series 6 bolt rotors should work....with the 1971- 1972 spindle. Although I havent been down to the parts store myself to throw a caliper on the inside to check to make sure, I would suggest going down with a caliper and checking this out, measuring the inside where the races would sit and then check the races that match your setup along with the bearings to double check to make sure everything specs out.

Super Stoked got in all of my gauges and senders today so I can now make my wiring harness for them all then i get the joy of designing and machining a custom billet aluminum counsel to sit in!
