not much for updates frame is almost ready for sandblasting then i can start painting it and get my suspension put back in, need to find myself a gas tank from a burb or blazer too

well after a long debate on wether to sell my 67 or fix the hack job on the drip rails i decided to sell it, sold the truck to my friend for 500 bucks cash plus a 2800 stall B&M torque converter, new fly wheel, and a mallory billet aluminum distributor, plus i kept the front and rear suspension from the truck as well

now the hunt for a new cab begins, no update on the swb frame been busy working on my 1980 gmc

still havent done anything to the frame or my 1980 gmc, hurt my back last fri and its now fri one week later and its still screwed, really frustrated and questioning my ability to complete this truck

considering selling my frame, lowering kit, engine and trans and just buying something thats running and driving and closer to what i want in a truck

p.s. disabilities suck!!!!!!

change of heart going to run my black truck till it snows and build my short box frame over the winter, got alot done today painted the firewall, my friend put the shift kit in my trans yesterday and today we painted the trans to match the motor, replaced the seals, installed toque converter, installed new trans pan matches oil pan, installed flexplate to motor, bolted motor and trans together, put motor and transmission into truck and got it all bolted in,trans crossmember bolted in

didnt paint the frame because i will be using the short box frame in the spring, looks crappy without it painted, i might possibly paint the front section of the frame yet, but for now heres some pics

heres some of the motor in the truck, sorry none of the trans forgot to take some before we put it in, i will see if i can get a decent one of it under the truck sorry for the quality im not good at taking pictures

well got some more done got all the pullies etc painted and installed, painted the brake booster and cylinder too, headers installed, trans shift linkage hooked up, carb installed and throttle hooked up, need to fix the wiring harness in the cab and fix up the engine harness for hei and external regulated alternator

parts i need:
hei distributor
spark plugs
starter
motor, trans oil
oil filter
dipstick
trans cooler lines
gas haha
gas tank

That alt is very cool...I was thinking cast iron paint on the body with black pulley/blade fan but now I'm not sure....

thanks guys, i wasnt too sure about it when i seen them painted but once they were on there i liked it, i think it actually goes with the orange and aluminum, also painted the brake booster and master cylinder

actually my friend did i was in the truck removing some rats nest of wires and i look up and hes going to town with news papers and masking tape, i said to him not to sound nervous but what on earth are you painting now and he says the brake booster with a smirk and i said ok and we carried on, i know such a compelling story lol

john go for it! i dont mind if you copy me id be humbled lol, my friend tracked down a starter and i got a distributor yesterday i think he wants to get it running more than i do lol

well i guess its time for an update, this truck used to have a straight six in it so my valve covers were practically touching the firewall because they are so tall, i went and bought some v8 stands but when i went to move the motor ahead the headers hit the a arms preventing me from moving it forward

since i dont have money for new headers i put the straight 6 stands back in and put some factory valve covers on for now, heres a couple of pics of the valve covers and some of the motor with the factory style on, i was worried they werent going to clear my rockers but they do pheeeew

lots of small stuff i got all the fluids i needed, oil, trans fluid, rad fluid, spark plugs, dipsticks, distributor, starter etc etc

got my driveshaft on, intermediate harness for taillights hung back up on the clips on the frame and plugged in, i put together my gauge cluster, painted the bezel black and replace the factory oil, amp, and temp gauges with aftermarket ones, this is only temporary i wanted to make sure i had properly functioning gauge when i start my truck for the first time i will go back to factory at a later date

i got my wiring in the engine bay hooked back up to the fuse box on the firewall, stripped all the tape off to inspect the wiring and all was good, all wiring has been retaped and routed since these pics

heres a pic of my gauge cluster done nothing fancy, and some of my wiring mess

oh also forgot to mention i removed my gas tank it had really old stale gas and was rusty inside, removed my seat, vacumed and shampoed the carpet, fixed the cable on my bench for the sliders and put the seat back in

painted my rad support, battery tray, and my radiator got it all on the truck, put my fenders on the truck as well they still need some work but i just put them on to support the rad support when we started the truck

you can still see some of my wiring mess in the pics but it has been taped and routed to the right places

all systems go all the wiring checked and everything works, put the battery in and got it running just need to set the timing some more, my friend pulled it out a couple days later and the rad started leaking bad from the top corner, need to get it fixed or replace it

i made a video of it running it isnt the greatest and the sound sucks but i will see if i can get it loaded, need to get my hood latch painted i got a really good deal on a 72 inner and outer grill
