Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

Beautiful work. Need a seat for my truck but as you mentioned....shipping can be a deal breaker. Wish I lived nearby. Those are really nice.

I'm going to check with Fastenal and see what their prices are.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

So I checked with Fastenal about shipping. For the quote, I used a seat that I had recently shipped to Alabama using FedEx. And the pic shows how the seat looks packed up to ship.
Fedex was $205.00. Fully insured. 3-5 days delivery.

Fastenal quote was $150.
It will take a little more on my end to use Fastenal. I don't have a local store, but the nearest is 25 miles. And to be insured, the seat needs to be on a pallet.
The only draw bag I can see using Fastenal, is the delivering time. There's really do guarantees on delivery time. The plus side, it is a bit cheaper!!!

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

Thanks for checking. It may be a little while before I can work with the seat but always looking ahead. I have a decent bench seat now in that it works and it's not in to terrible condition. However, it's green vinyl and it doesn't fold forward so it isn't color matched to anything else in the truck and I need access to the small space behind the seat. I will be looking to get one that folds forward to replace the one I have.

Also picked a seat from a donor truck. It will be stripped down for restoration. Best part, was it was only 10 mins away and $20!!! I was happy about that.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

Sold the Black Vinyl Deluxe bench with New Foam to a local person, for his 86 GMC. He came up this weekend and we swapped the new seat in the truck. I took the old seat for a core, to be restored.
