so what is the application for these anyway? consoles have seat belt holders made into them so a title of "console seat belt holders" doesn't make sense to me. Are these for console delete trucks?

These mount on the front of the console for trucks and blazer that have the shoulder belts. These were also used on the later consoles with the cup holders.

Ok that makes sense. I have a set of these mounted on a pair of buckets but if the console was in there you wouldn't be able to access them. So someone without a console must have mounted them on the side of the buckets even though that wasn't the intended use. Mystery solved!

These came if you didn't have a center console and would be attached to the side of the seats. Very common in later vans.
