Re: 1972 c10 headlight switch wiring

The light blue is is fed by the red power wire and is not fused. The brown wires are fed by the orange wire which comes from the fused panel. It is hot with the key off but all lights are fuse by the stop tail fuse.

The parking/marker lights will work where the blue wire goes but they won't be fused.

To post a pic click on go advanced and scroll down to the words "manage attachments."
Click on that and a window will open with 5 choices to get files. Click on the first one and the window will open to your hard drive. You will have to find out where the pictures are stored and then click on one and it will say "upload", click that and the pic will load in the post. It must be less than 150mb to load.

Replacing my headlight switch, plug, and wiring. Why is my plug from Classic Parts different?

Re: 1972 c10 headlight switch wiring

They used yellow instead of LT Blue.
White is for the dome lamp
Red is battery 12v
LT Blue is the dimmer switch feed
DK Green goes to the fuse box. Feed for the dash lights
Brown is for the running lights
Orange comes from the fuse box. It is 12v ignition switch feed.
Hope this helps.

Re: 1972 c10 headlight switch wiring

Just confused why factory has 2 brown 1 orange, and new plug has 1 brown 2 orange. I just spliced the factory harness wires to the same spot on the new plug. We'll see what happens?...

Late and irrelevant to the install. But while going through a square body harness I noticed the colors match what you have. So I’d say they are technically selling a square body pigtail which is why the yellow instead of blue and the double orange

Talking Re: 1972 c10 headlight switch wiring

I just pulled a complete 68 wiring harness out of my daughters truck to look at it good. Here is her plug.

Just some added info for everyone. I found the main wire connection covered in paint. I don't think anything worked as far as lights! I cleaned it up and got it back to the way it should look.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
