Before and after. 2.5" drop spindles up front. 2" drop shackles in back. Also did a full brake overhaul all around and replaced the ball joints while I was at it. The photos don't give a true representation of the stance change. Very subtle and exactly what I was going for. Not slammed, not riding high, and still able to haul loads.

Time to add some speakers and a CD player. PO cut holes in the doors, so decided to use those. Hit the junk yard and pulled a pair of rubber wire looms from a Chrysler 4 door for $5.

Changed the rear slider glass to a single piece with stainless trim. Went in OK, but the trim is not seated perfectly. Will probably need to redo that at some point in the future. Currently working on installing the new windshield and struggling with that piece of stainless trim. The gasket from LMC appears to be the problem. The trim channel does not have much to grab onto, so i will likely scrap it and buy one from Precision. Wish I had read up on that before purchasing from LMC--pretty negative reviews all around.

Finally replaced the broken windshield. Upgraded to the stainless trim. Tried to do it myself; spend about 3 days trying to install the trim, and eventually broke the replacement windshield in the process. A quick call to Speedy Glass, and had it replaced and properly installed within 48 hours for $200+tax. Very happy with the results and price. Will never try to install a windshield myself--especially on a 67-72. Not worth the brain damage.

New wheels and tires.
Front: 18" x 8" with 235/65. Rear: 18" x 9.5" with 275/60. Purchased an almost new set tires from wowusedtires.com. I have to give them a big plug because they hooked me up with a great deal on great tires. I highly recommend them if you're in the market for used tires.

First noteworthy mechanical upgrade in a long while. Replaced the rusted out 2.0" exhaust system. Installed 2.5" pipes, h-tube and Summit Racing 2-chamber "Race" Mufflers (Flowmaster 44 clones, 1/3 the price). Entire set-up ran me $266. Took me about 4 hours to remove the old exhaust and replace with the new. Very happy with the results.

Spent September 2019 working on the front end of the engine. New timing chain, water pump, oil pump, harmonic balancer, paint, seals, belts, hoses, engine mounts, etc.

Then finished by installing a new aluminum radiator and transmission cooler. This was actually my original September 2019 project. Once I had the old radiator out, I realized I had access to everything else.

Almost 2 years after stripping down to bare metal, repainting begins. Applied accent color to the cab first (Summit Racing Pure White). A few runs and some orange peel, turned out relatively well for my first time painting. Need to change some techniques and adjust gun settings, but ready to apply main color to cab as soon as the materials arrive.
