Ignition switch assembly diagram???

My inginition switch on the dash seems to have become very loose all of a sudden. Does anyone have a drawing or pic of how the different components go together. Seems to turn loose as a whole assembly now when i turn the key and before I unplug the harness and pull it apart I was hoping someone had some sort of assembly diagram.
Thanks!

Here is a picture of the parts. The spacer slides on the threaded part of the switch and this assembly installs from the rear, then the bezel screws on from the front to hold it all together. The ignition cylinder goes in last and you have to have the key in it to install it.....

I would say that the chrome bezel just needs to be tightened up. Push on the switch from the back and make sure that the key hole is straight up and down and the key removed before you try to tighten it up.

Let us know how it goes. Be careful when you screw the chrome bezel on, the threads are really fine and it is easy to get cross threaded.

Re: Ignition switch assembly diagram???

Well turns out someone put some Ford spacer parts behind the bezel - No wonder the ignition became loose behind the dash. I was wondering why my new parts did not match the ones on my truck. All good now. Should be against the law to put Ford parts on a GM!!!

.... You sure never know what you are going to find on these 50 year old trucks. At least it was something easy to replace.

Glad you got it all figured out.
