Re: gauge decals

The gauges and lenses do not use decals they use silk screen printing to apply the paint to plastic lens and gauges.

Re: gauge decals

Surprised nobody makes a sticker for them. An easy way to pretty up your cluster without new gauges.

I’ve seen white face gauges before. Maybe whoever makes them could flip the colors.

Re: gauge decals

Whiteguages.net sells primarily white gauge labels, but you can order them Black OEM matte, or Black OEM semi gloss.

From what we've heard regarding these they look good initially but 1st summer outside with windows up they begin to lift off gauges from heat. We haven't personally experienced this but several years ago when these became popular we were hearing of the issue.

That's good to know. I never ordered them, because I was put off by the extra $30 charge to get them in the OEM black versus the white. I guess it's good I never did.

Re: gauge decals

I visited their website and description does say they
""
•Overlays do not wrinkle or bubble in the heat or cold and can be removed with direct heat if needed.
""
So perhaps they are better But it is odd they say ""can be removed with direct heat""
Which when these cab's are closed up and start hitting temps above 150 inside I'd think that would suffice for direct heat over a period of time exposed to those conditions.
Wonder if anyone's purchased a set last spring that went through last summer without issues?

Here is the cluster in my DD '67 farm truck with the white face gauges. I installed the decals in 2011 and the last time I looked at them close they still looked good. I will check it in the morning and see how it looks after the extreme
cold we have had this winter.....

LOL LockDoc, I asked dad a few minutes ago about these decals and he said that the one's he was aware of that had the problem were being sold by a person on Ebay in the mid-to late 2000's and that at that time he wasn't aware of any established companies selling them when they first started showing up it was on Ebay. Glad to hear things have improved since then as the white gauges in your 68 definitely set it off nicely!!

Re: gauge decals

I installed a factory 80 lb oil pressure gauge but the face was ugly. I had this decal made up. It looks good and I had numbers added rather than the L and H.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get it made? I am looking for something similar for a vacuum gauge.

I got them from this vendor on e-Bay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-1972-C...53.m1438.l2649

This cluster has been highly modified. I added the GPS speedometer in the tach location and a small tach in the vacuum/air gauge location..... I did all of that when I installed the S-10 5 speed overdrive trans behind the L-6.

I went out and looked today and they look the same as when I put them on in 2011. The truck has never been parked inside.

I have some like this in various shades of green down to almost white, but the photo is of the darkest one and I think it is too dark. The one I had made for my oil gauge is an off-white to match my factory gauges which have faded. What do your other gauges look like? Light green or faded to an off-white?

Re: gauge decals

Faded to an off-white I would say. I contacted eBay member customgauges, who Lockdoc used and they wanted $65 for a vac gauge overlay. I don’t want one that bad, but it sounds like their products might be pretty good quality.

He can't sell them on the board unless he becomes a Premium member. Please don't turn this thread into a buy/sell thread or it will be closed....

Thanks,

I can't sell anything on here. I'm not a Premium Member yet. By overlays, I assume you mean the things I've been posting photos of? What are you looking for?
