Nice Lady with Nice truck came by..

This Nice lady came by my shop looking for 'help' selling here late husbands truck.

Another shop in town took so long to restore it, he fell very I'll and was not strong enough to actually drive it.

His kids managed to give him a few rides, but that was the extent of it. He has passed away

Its a very nice 72 GMC 4x4...383, Auto

One owner since 75

She insists on giving me a percentage, but I declined.

"Maam, I will help you sell it, but on the condition that I am here to help, and do not want anything in return"

She is afraid of CL, and does not want any 'tire kickers' at her home...so interest can be met at my shop, located in Hollister, California.

I figured I would post a few pics here...but soon will post in For Sale section.

I took about 80 pics total of truck top to bottom...here are a few:

Good on you for helping her sell that truck. I don't blame her for avoiding the tire kickers and people who will try and get it for nothing. Looks nice in the pics! Did the shop that restored it look like they did a nice job on it?

I do not like yellow vehicles, but it's amazing what 72, GMC, and 4x4 can do to change my opinions...I love it!

Congrats on being a good human, Chief! Good luck on the sale.

What a great truck... Ya gotta help out any wife of a veteran. God bless your efforts and lets hope she gets top dollar!

I don't think I have ever seen an armrest like the one pictured on the drivers door, is that a GMC thing or maybe an upgraded trim level?

That's very good of you to help a widow in need of assistance. Are you certain it's a 72, the door panels are not correct for 72 and it does not have the screw below the wing window on the interior. It's a beautiful truck I'm not trying to nit pick just an observation

rear view mirror is pre-72 as well.. have you coded out the VIN?

we can help, just leave off the last six serial digits if prefer privacy..

great looking truck and nice gesture! I've done this several times for widows with old guns..

the looks on their faces when you hand them 5x the $$ they were expecting

Very nice truck and very commendable for you to be helping her.

That said, maybe do a quick recheck to see if that's a '71....based on the door panel/door arrangement as well as the other ol' give away...the rear view mirror being mounted above the window instead of to it.

It might have had a new cab?....or?

Regardless, very nice truck...

All good

Re: Nice Lady with Nice truck came by..

Way back many moons ago when my 72 Super SWB 4X4 would spend a lot of time in the hot sun and on rough roads the mirror would fall off the windshield, so I went to the wrecking yard and found a mirror with correct color cover that mounted above and installed it.
You would not believe how many people told me my truck was not a 72 because the mirror was in the wrong place.
So many of these parts interchange that sometimes it's just what the guy likes.

It appears to be done well.

Floor patches were done really.nice, and butted up to existing sheetmetal really tight.

Beautiful paint.

Shop took forever, but other than that, job done well.

Nice job Chief! Kudo’s!

I like FB marketplace and groups for selling. Sold a 78 ElCamino in 7 hours from listing to cash in hand a few weeks ago.

I definitely use FB for selling...but I need to stay clear of all the tire kickers, and need to keep this one very professional, for the widows sake.

So, I turned here first
