73-87 Drop spindles on 71 C20

Okay, I know many variations of this question have been asked but they all seem to be for C10s or 5 lug conversions.

I have a 70 C20 running 71 C20, 8 lug disc brakes.

Can I run the 73-87 drop spindle and keep the 8 lug rotor, if the spindles say they're for 1.25" rotors?

No because the rotors are 12" c10, and 13"c20

So it sounds like the issue is in the caliper mounting location.

I believe that is the only company that makes them specifically for a C20. I just happened to have a person selling some and I wanted to see if they would fit but sounds like they won't.

You need a spindle intended for a 3/4 or 1-ton application if you want 8-lug stuff.
  • There was a C20 spindle @ one point (through Early Classics) that simplified doing a C20 to C10 swap.
  • The caliper retaining bolts dimensional footprint is different on a C20 vs C10.
