Engine Dress up kit?

I saw an engine dress up kit a littel while back on Summit but now I cant find it. So does anyone know where I might be able to find it or one similair?

It was a chrome kit that included Valve covers, timing cover, air filter, and I think a few more little things. The valve covers and air filter cover had Chevy logos on them.

Any of the board vendors carry something liek this?

Yea, I saw that one while I was looking, but its not the same one I remember from the first time. The first one I think was a GM Perf Prod (I might be wrong on that) for about $130

Re: Engine Dress up kit?

most of the chrome "dress up" sets i've seen are just poor quality junk usually the rust sets in and the chrome starts bubbling in the first couple of months and if thats not bad enough you've got maybe a 50% chance that the timing covers and valve covers will never seal properly JMO

Re: Engine Dress up kit?

If you are dressing up a big block beware of the Edelbrock polished cast aluminum timing chain cover. It sealed fine but I had to grind a little off of my water pump to make it clear which really wasn't to big a deal but here is what ticked me off, the cast aluminum cover comes with the wrong timing tab.The tab that came with it is for a stamped steel cover not the cast one I had three veteran mechanics look at it so it wasn't just me. My parts dealer ordered another one for me to double check and it was the same so they sold me an adjustable one at cost which looks pretty cool.
2nd Edelbrock Elite valve covers look really cool but are way tall measure clearance to brake booster before buying, you probably need a 7" booster or hydroboost conversion to fit these covers in our trucks with a big block.

Re: Engine Dress up kit?

its a a small block. A 350. I went ahead and ordered the Proform kit. Its not the one I saw originally, but its close. With a littel paint and detail it will be what I was looking for
