Front Spring Lengths. Drop or Stock Height... Dimensions?

I was told by the previous owner that the truck had 2'' drop springs up front. How can I verify that this is true.

1970 C10 2wd Short Box

The front springs measure about 12.5'' when removed.

Re: Front Spring Lengths. Drop or Stock Height... Dimensions?

I have wondered this exact same thing for my truck. Is it possible to tell by the uncompressed length? When the spring weakens over time, will the uncompressed length change?

I am in the middle of frame off and will be doing a 2 1/2" drop spindle in front and possibly add a 1' drop spring, but want to see how it sits with the spindle first. My concern is that with the old spring, that it may already have a bit of sag and changing to a 1" drop spring will not change the stance.

Im having a similar issue, I already purchased 2.5'' spindles and want 2'' springs as well. I was told that these are in fact 2'' drop springs, but want to verify that it is true.
