Radio Antenna Location ??

When I bought my 64 it came without a radio antenna.
I know it installs in the front passenger cowl.
Can anyone provide me with an exact location to drill the hole ?

When I bought the truck, the antenna was installed on the firewall, and ran parallel with the cowl.

I don't know effective it was, as the radio didn't work.
Do you think if I re-install it, as shown, in these pics, that it will work?

I'm sure it will work but reception will be poor.

Re: Radio Antenna Location ??

I would install an antenna in the factory location unless you only want to here local stations.

Re: Radio Antenna Location ??

If nobody else out there comes up with anything I can try to take some measurements off my truck.

Re: Radio Antenna Location ??

I have two cowls here.

My '61 has a 7/8" hole that is 7-1/2" from the front, and 5-1/2" down from the top.

I have a '62 cowl that has a 1" hole 4-5/8" from the front, and 1-5/8" down from the top.
