Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - Interior Restoration

These pictures show the reassembling of the door panels.
1. Put new weather stripping in.
2. Screw in panel.
3. Screw in arm rest.
4. Attach door and window handles.

The metallic and blue colors accent each other well I think. Nice contrast.

Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - Interior Restoration

Now that the body work is done, we decided to take Ol' Blue out to the beach. We had a nice time. It's the perfect beach truck. The kids love the ole truck, and so do I.

Ol' Blue is a work truck, so we use it for various projects around our property. It was very handy one day for reaching some high limbs when we were trimming trees in our yard. We try to be extra careful though so we don't mess up all of our hard work.

Up next? Rebuilding the engine. That should be happening pretty soon. Thanks for visiting, and I'll be sure to post more pictures.

Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - Interior Restoration

I look these pics of my little girl last week in Ol' Blue. She wanted to drive, and she was pretty excited. She loves it when we go for our little truck rides. She's quite a sport. Can you tell she is "Miss Personality Plus"?

Hey bud. Seriously you've made an amazing transfer for working on a budget. I understand your on a budget and I have a gift for you. I don't want anything for it nor do I want shipping costs. Off my old engine I have a edlebrock intake and carb in good condition. If you want it pm me.

I can't believe how good you made that truck turn out with spray paint, and to see your family all helping is awesome. Kudos to you sir.

Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - It's Quite a Story

Hello Hydrojunkie!

Wow, I don't know what to say but thank you, thank you, thank you! It's funny, I am in need of a new intake and carb, but wasn't sure how I was going to get it, as I only have enough $ for rebuild kit. I really appreciate this.

My family says to tell you thank you. My little girl said: "Tell the nice man thank you for helping our engine go better." I couldn't put it any better than that.

Again, thanks so much. Rest assured, it will be put to good use.

Warm Regards,
Ol' Blue 1970

Wow, cool! Absolutely, 67-72 chevys are my favorite trucks in the whole world. I love the valve covers on yours...the original twist on oil caps are so neat. I prefer them much more over the pop-in types.

Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - It's Quite a Story

Carb & intake look good! Can't wait to see more pics. Is the carb 4bbl or 2bbl?

Have you started a build thread yet? Hope you do. Awesome to see the transformation. What year is your truck? That looks like orginal paint. The original color on mine was Medium Green with white top. Then, later, someone repainted it "Baby Diaper Yellow." Yikes! Then, still later, dark metallic blue. And finally, I've painted it "Sail Blue."

Sure! Clean up, paint and reuse. 90% of this project has been just that thus far. It looks great! Thanks again.

Re: Ol' Blue 1970 - It's Quite a Story

That's hilarious! It's funny, we just got a small lap dog two months ago, and the cat hasn't been thrilled about that. She is very jealous of the dog, so you're very close to the truth there. However, I know something the cat doesn't. The dog already snuck her first truck ride this earlier this week. SHHH! Don't tell the cat!
