Farm find 69 GMC k2500 - she's beat......

I always like seeing when guys pick up new trucks and the stories they tell. I picked this one up a few weeks ago. I wasn't going to post it just because its so rough. But it was worth saving in my opinion. You just dont see k2500 trucks with maroon paint. Its definitely been used as a work truck its entire life. But the crazy part is that it runs and drives pretty good. It just wont give up. Every single body panel has major dents. Surprisingly the floors are very good. But it has pretty bad rust near the sun visors..... no plans as of right now. Just tinkering here and there. Here are some pictures.

This is a bumper i'm currently building for it. I built it in solidworks. We have a Maxiem water jet and press brake at work so when we have a little down time we can work on our personal projects.

You had me until you posted about having a water jet

JK, that is a good looking truck, I'd drive the wheels off of that.

This will be a really nice truck, the 547 White / Maroon is a great color you don't see very often. I am in on this one.

That truck definitely needs some long-overdue loving. I did the same thing when I bought my 67 GMC 3500 off of a farm. It was in worse shape than that.
Restore that beauty to all of its former glory!

Cool find and nice bumper fab! I'd like to find a truck like that just to have as a truck that I didn't care got scratched and could haul stuff in.

Nice find! I’m glad to see yet another K/20/2500 saved. In my opinion we are the top of the food chain in 67-72! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Re: Farm find 69 GMC k2500 - she's beat......

Thanks for the replies everyone. This is why I LOVE this forum. None of my buddies I hang out with share the same passion about these trucks. They thought I was out of my mind buying this truck. I told them that there is good in everything. No matter the condition. I want to save ALL of them. Its funny how some people see it as a pile of junk, but on this forum everyone thinks its pretty cool. I agree that its cool. Beat up, rusty and ugly. I honestly don't have plans to make it nice. I have my 70 blazer I'm trying to get finished. It will most likely get a rendition of a GM brush guard I am designing in solidworks, white steelies (no caps) and some Power King tires.

I'm not looking to get rid of anything on this truck. I'm actually in need of a passenger side sun visor. What are you looking for? I parted out another K25 years ago with red interior. I might have a few pieces left.

My Dad had a 68 C-10 for a while, it had an aftermarket, chrome plated brush guard. It didn't look like it would have been very protective, but was cool. He up and sold that pickup, I didn't even know about it....yes I would have bought it...

I like the fact that some folks have the room to buy something like yours, and put it on the back burner until the day comes to do whatever you wnat to it!!!
