Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Removed diamond tuck fabric from everywhere! Radio delete, glove box door, kick panels, door panels, lower door panels, tailgate and CST rear side panels. Happy to find radio hole in dash is uncut. The doors only have one speaker hole and the original door panels are in great shape.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

It rained in Dallas last weekend so Friday after work I took out driver's seat and put in the new Lokar brake pedal. Took about 4 hrs. because I had to use Youtube and our forum to figure out some stuff. This Thursday will probably install gas pedal I purchased/posted a month or so ago.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Made rear quarter panels nd upholstered them. Layed rear carpet out. Mounted speakers. Content with the day, I took it for its first topless drive in 7 years, revved the 6 liter is and burnt the tires all the way through second gear.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Finally got the accelerator pedal in but have a few issues/tweaks to make with cable. Also went ahead and put on Holley carb I had laying around for a year and a half and never got around to it.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Has anyone done it this way? Pros? Cons? I'm gonna take the decent floor from this 72 P/U And put it in my 72 K-5

I dont know why, but when I attach my pictures to this site, they're upside down. They're fine in my library. I tried turning my photos upside down, but no luck.

When I figure it out, I'll re-post.

The pickup cab floor is good. I know I'm destroying a good cab for the floor but I think it's better metal than the patch panels I see on line.

Any thoughts?

I bought a K5 carcass for a few hundred dollars the rear floor area. A day's work of cutting welds, removing carriage bolts and I had a factory floor for my medium Blue CST. Sold the Blazer carcass for what I bought it for originally = free rear floor for me. Plus the repop sheetmetal is never as thick as the original factory GM stuff. My two cents.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Why dont you buy a full repop floor pan rather than wreck a good cab? There are threads on using a full truck floor pan. I had plans to use one before on a k5 before but ended up patching.

Did you see any you liked?

If the steel is the same thickness as original, that may be the way to go.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Yes...I had a full floor pan...cannot remember the maker but it was very good quality. I sold it to a member who does vehicles for the Sema show. Hopefully someone will chime in with the maker. Ill keep looking and if I find the maker I'll post it here.

It would 'cut' my labor in half. Hopefully you find it or someone else responds.
I'll start a web search.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Removed my 35x12.50x16.5 BFGs, front 8-lug Dana 44, removed 4-inch leafs, installed new original height springs from Michigan Springs, and pre-positioned 6-lug Dana 44 from another 72 Blazer under front of truck. It was hot as hell so attaching the replacement axle will have to wait a bit.
