My 67 build

This is how the truck looked on the day we bought it. The man we bought it from had a very good start on it and I'm glad he did. I've always wanted a hot rod of my own to go on rides with my dad and his brothers. My dad has a 69 firebird that he restored about 10'years ago. One of my uncles and his sons have two 68 roadrunners and a 67 camaro. My other uncle has a 69 camaro, 56 apache, 43 dodge deuce coupe. We've got big plans for the c10 so I think it'll fit in just fine.

Re: My 67 build

Here are some pictures of the 4/6 drop kit. We used early classics kit with winwood drop spindles. We had to go with the winwood spindles because we are putting winwood disc brakes on all for corners.

Re: My 67 build

Looks great. Pretty good start and it sure sounds like you are going to be putting together a nice build. I think I will just tag along!
Your progress is just about where I have mine. I may be just a tad bit ahead but NOT MUCH.

Re: My 67 build

This was a hard choice but I figured as far as we are going with this truck we might as well give it some modern day conveniences. My son will be going on all these rides with me and at 4'years old it'll be pretty sweet for him to be able to watch toy story or whatever he wants on those 3-4'hr drives down the coast. I'm easy I'm just looking forward to hearing that cammed ls3 with that cutout exhaust.:metal

We also have the restomod ac system for it so there ac knobs will be just below the monitor/screen (3 knobs).

Great looking project, looks like you had a solid project to start off with anyways. Love the direction you are taking with it. I have to say I love those old school slots on there to bad you couldn't have stayed with those.

Re: My 67 build

Sunday we opened up the rear end housing to remove the rear axles and noticed that he rear end was shot. I just ordered 2 new rear axles for the 5 lug conversion and all new rear end parts. I just found out that we will not be able to work on the truck this weekend so I'm bumbed out.

Are your upper control arms on backwards (swapped side to side)?
Truck is looking good, wish I was ready for paint.

Re: My 67 build

Thanks guys. The slots are 15" wheels and the wilwood brakes reguire I believe a minimum of a 17" wheels so the slots won't work for that application. As far as the upper control arms we never took them completely off so if they are backwards it because the guy we bought it from had them on backwards. Thanks though I will look over them when I get back on it in the next few days because it's at my dads shop.
